.... although the ads are super annoying.
On that subject, does anyone else think that Youtube is showing more ads than it used to? I watched the MCM Germany road trip video and there must have been 4 mid video adverts, and Shmee's Ford GT in New York video was the same.

Or is it just because people are making longer videos these days (30mins+)?
There's definitely been an uptick in ads in the last month. Including the new 'double-advert' at the start of videos. Thankfully only affect's mobile viewing - AdBlock on PC browser.

The fact Queen B and myself both have R8s at the same time is basically coincidence. I have been trying to get one from Audi for a long time, and was promised one last year but they got taken off the fleet when they got face lifted. Then when the new one came out all the big outlets got them first - big YTers, press etc...

I asked a while ago to have one this week, and Queen B's got herself one as a long term loan (lucky girl!)

I have been lucky to build a good relationship with Audi and have been doing quite a bit with their heritage fleet, which I enjoy probably more than the modern stuff. Also, anyone who thinks that being given a free supercar for a week will only ever say nice things should definitely watch my R8 review. I have been critical of some parts of Audi products before and they have never complained or refused to give me a car. I can't say the same for other manufacturers.
I wasn't criticising, just making an observation smile. You have similar subscriber levels so it is a shame that you didn't get offered one on long term loan as well. I guess you're just not what they look for in YTer for that....

It beggars belief that McLaren give out cars to chav young girls with metal in their face. Absolutely terrible video quality and insight into driving 'aw it don't half go init'. it's cringe. Talk about brand dilution.

As cringey as the phrase 'young chav girls with metal in their face'?

No, I do not have an agent. I am not convinced I would want one either.

Are you going to tell anyone who this post is about or do we just have to type "chav young girl with metal in her face" into YouTube and hope it pops up...

Some pros in terms of opportunities (R8 long term) but some significant cons I'm sure. Thanks for responding.

The fact SOL has 775k subs and is lucky to get over 50k views in most uploads is crazy... He's well and truly dropped off - He deserves it as well, hasn't listened to his audience, ever. As someone who relies on them as an income, it's pretty bizarre.

How long until big brands don't touch him?

Another YouTuber I've been watching since his channels inception is TR Hamza - I don't think he's been mentioned on here (not that I can remember anyway) - He's recently done a high mileage mk5 Golf GTI K04 conversion build series, recently acquired an Impreza Turbo to restore... As well as his LCI M2 which rarely features nowadays, some of the usual german performance car features too. Good editing/camera helps...

I do genuinely feel sorry for Paul. With JWW doing all his NVN and lifestyle stuff, Sam doing his Drive [some of] the World, Seb concentrating on his French channel and Tim just living the dream it seems that Paul has just been left behind. The whole dream Lambo thing seems to have changed direction more times than a dodgem now. I can't even remember what the current plan is with it. The videos seem sporadic and don't appear to have much effort put into them. And it's a shame considering he built SOL up from nothing and I used to really enjoy his videos. But as everyone else moved the game on with editing and content, he just seemed to lag behind.

What's with Archie going around and asking people if his cars going to hold value or go up in every upload? Latest upload he's asking a Porsche sales guy, of course he's going to say the gen1 gt3 is going to go up in value.

TGE is the exact same but took it to another level when he claimed someone offered 70k over sticker for his pista. The same pista which sat on a dealer floor for months.

Really insecure bunch.

Money wins the battle. Simple as that really. If Youtuber A decides to throw £500k at a car or £100k at an expensive week in the sun how on earth is Paul meant to keep up. Personally I think he would be better trying to change direction and maybe focus on more accessible cars and events.

As mentioned before its all getting a bit silly stateside, the smashed Ferrari / Lambo rebuilds have been the massive growth area for car vlogs but now its getting old. A few are moving onto boats but that's only going to keep peoples attention so long. So where next?

I used to watch a lot of the hypercar stuff but now if I see someone has bought a new £1M car I just shrug and go back to watching some guy with a beard rebuilding his Land Rover even though I don't like beards or Land Rovers.
