Cracking video as always Harry, I've always thought the Diablo was a bit underrated as it seemed to be overshadowed by the Countach's lairy looks. I would have one over a Countach. I wouldn't be surprised if a Diablo ends up in the garage due to that video!

A few months old but came across this nice Mrbeast video about buying a lambo and then helping a stranger after an accidental minor parking ding.

It seems that Sideways Sid is now doing some back tracking on his "leaving his mclaren on the m25" story. He has deleted his comment where he explained it was a lie and that a police officer did actually stop and help him. Seems he was taking some flack over it. Anyone with half a brain cell could work out that it would end badly for him.
Yeah, was a bit weird to say. Called it

Crazy list in the times, if they're including adnan via carthrottle, he has way more influence than James and Sam. And really weird there's no Tim.

For anyone who hasn't seen them Effspot's videos off his V12 Merc with a 12k exhaust on are hilarious.

His laugh every time it accelerates is really infectious and it genuinely sounds brilliant.

He does love saying the exhaust cost 12k though. Grates with me.

However it does sound fantastic.

I'm almost hoping it slows down a bit over winter so I have a chance to do some content on my own cars!
Yeah we are always interested in the channels own cars. There is a different relationship that comes accross with an "owned" car, especially if its a bit of a project - thats you Celica wink

If you keep dropping so much content are you ever worried you will get a bit thin on cool older cars to review?

I like a bit of variety, whether a road trip to Scotland or the benefits of hydrogen cleaning your engine. Well done J, keep up the good work.

"An Internet celebrity, influencer,[1] cyberstar,[2] key opinion leader (KOL), Internet personality, online celebrity,[2] blogebrity,[3] or micro-celebrity'

And let's all be very honest about this, Timmy does not fall within any of these categories. However with his key audience in the 8-14yr old bracket, they aren't heading into the shops and spending money on items that are big ticket. You could hardly call his vlogs inciteful or of a genre to steer anyone to go out and spend money on a vacuous purchase. He's simply demonstrating that, as it always has been, it's OCD introversion dedicated to his bigger pursuits. His girlfriend also hopped straight onto the instagram band wagon as soon as she could link her 'edited reality' life with his. The only successful practice Tim influences is to unsubscribe. Bliss. Next.

Thankyou. Yes there is a minor concern that I might run out of vehicles some time, but for now I am not too worried. Just this week I have had some fascinating offers of cars. The list of manufacturers that I work with is growing all the time, and there are some things that only manufacturers can provide. Working with Audi's heritage fleet has been pretty amazing and the guy who runs it is a proper petrol head and not the corporate type you might expect.

My Celica's condition has been annoying me for some time, I have been slowly building up a stack of parts so I can get the job done over winter - mechanically and cosmetically. The car means a lot to me so I want it done right.

With YT slowly starting to bring money in I can look at trips abroad as a more regular possibility. Although they don't always get the most views, I have a lot of fans in the USA and I love doing cars there. Some really amazing people and a totally different selection of cars. Truthfully the cars are great, but it's meeting the people behind them which is the bit I really enjoy.

Just posting this for balance, not a dig at your channel as I think you've had a really good year and I'm enjoying it.

I skip past the US episodes because they come across a bit too much like "I've flown over here, and I'm just driving any old st whilst here". There was some cooking spec Dodge thing I watched about 30seconds of and it just wasn't interesting at all. Your UK stuff occasionally was like this too, but not so much any more....the cars are really quite interesting nowadays.

Your UK stuff has been great recently, just watched the R8 video this morning and it pretty entertaining. I didn't quite get the "Do we need supercars anymore" bit as we've never needed them, that's the whole point! But the review felt honest, and I could imagine it being a useful 30minutes to somebody who's genuinely in that market which is quite rare for review content nowadays.

I noticed somebody have a dig about your fitness in the comments, not worded particularly well and was a bit of a dick move - but I find myself short of breath myself whilst watching your extended verbal sections... I don't think it's a fitness (or Microphone) issue, more just rushing your sentences without giving much chance to breath in-between so you end up taking mid-word breaths a lot, I then find myself emulating subconsciously laugh

Finally, I'm not a photographer and I'm probably talking crap - but I think a bit of kit to help with panning external shots would be a great addition to your production quality. Often I feel your panning shots are a bit wobbly and/or linger for a few frames too long. A drone would also have been a great use of luggage space for the Scotland R8 trip smile

Hope this is received well, I've enjoyed your stuff since your early Lotus content and the quality of cars is ramping up nicely on your channel. They don't need to be supercars, but anything that's just "interesting" will continue to be well received. Keep it up!

No offence taken whatsoever at your feedback. As a trained cameraman the deficiencies in my videos in terms of camerawork are painfully obvious - however also obvious to me is the restrictions on filming these things - time, weather, traffic, etc etc... all play a part. I'm actually more fussed about getting good sound than visuals. I always get annoyed watching a video with a great cinematic intro, which cuts to a bad in car shot with GoPro sound.

I tried to redo the shot in the opening of the R8 video but it took literally ten minutes to do and each of the others was ruined by road traffic. As for drones, I hate them with a passion. For many boring reasons.

My US content doesn't always get great views and I appreciate that not all of my videos appeal to you. The simple fact is that it is not possible to make every video work for everyone - there are plenty out there in the comments who think R8 videos are pointless but videos on entry level US cars are more relevant and interesting.

It's funny in many ways how this thread is titled are we a scam- that R8 video cost the best part of £1500 to produce and even splitting the costs with my buddy my net loss is about £700 - and that's only if the views pickup. And a huge number of people will be watching it with an adblocker on so they don't have to sit through a 30 second ad and give me 0.005p for my efforts! I could have chosen to just do a normal ordinary review on the car but that seemed to be a bit of a waste when one is given such a car for a week. I love driving and I love filming, if you don't YT is not the right place to be!

It does irk me when I see others being given fancy cars for long term loans when they don't seem to justify it with content, however I believe there is no point at all in being sour and instead it just persuades me to work harder to create decent content that people enjoy.

My channel has grown fairly slowly, but consistently, I watched a hell of a lot of YT before I started making any and it's getting positive feedback from most of the people here and in the comments which keeps me going. Yes, I'm now seeing financial benefits from it but it took about 3 years and a hell of a big loss to get there.

Not sure where I started now, so I'll finish. smile

I have only started watching your videos in the last 3-4 months. What I like is that your reviews are factual and informative, you personally have some great cars and review cars that I could potentially own. You seem to be careful in not testing the same stuff at the same time that every other You-tuber is doing,. I reckon your a pretty nice bloke too, I have met a few You-tubers with similar number of subscribers and found them to be pretty dull individuals...

Stuff
Yep your audio is bang on, and I do appreciate that! I think Sid particularly can learn from that with his content.

I also appreciate that you're not "my channel" making stuff that only I find entertaining, but I mainly commented in response to your comment about not always getting the views for your US content. The best part of Youtube is that I can pick and choose the stuff that looks attractive, as long as you're churning out content then you're playing the numbers game and you're always likely to be appealing to somebody.

I'm not sure how appealing your US audience finds your US content, but if they're fans/followers already then it's likely they were attracted to your earlier UK based stuff anyway. US petrol-heads do have a fascination with quirky British cars, workshops and roads! Ed China is like gold dust over there before (ironically) he moved to a California workshop and started doing hotrods.

I'm sorry I offended you with the drone comment, I assume that's a purist cameraman attitude towards a remote control "Hollywood in a box" so I'll leave that topic alone :P

As for the costs of your R8 weekend, you did the car/event justice - so I hope it pays off in the longer term.

Finding a US audience is tricky. For me, the content which is most popular in the USA is my Porsche content.

There is some truth in the US liking quirky British cars, but the problem is if they don't even know that some of these things exist - then they don't search for them!

When I did my video on the Venturi, I was not sure how well it would go down - yes it's a super cool and rare car, but quite a few people have never even heard of the brand. Even with full access to my analytics and three years of experience, predicting what videos will do well is a dark art. I'd never have guessed the V12 Diesel Q7 would attract more than double the viewers as a mint RS2!

For me the content is all. I would watch content in black and white if I am interested in the subject. I realise that you would want the quality as good as you can get it but not an issue for me.
Keep up the good work

Probably with no sensible logic.
There is no logic because an ‘influencer’ is something made up about ten minutes ago.
Where are all of the Forex millionaires with their fridges of empty bottles, fake teeth/beard/Gucci sliders and empty Selfridges bags?
