The new TGE video. He’s now awkwardly introduced as ‘DMB Collections’

Watched hubnutz after reading lots of positive comments about the channel on here. I don't get I, what am I missing?

I'm not interested in supercars or the latest offerings. I am interested in older cars but I just can't find interest in the sort of ste anyone can pick up on Gumtree for £500 any day of the week.
I'm with you. Several months ago I watched a few of his videos and I didn't "get it". Part of my problem was trying not to imagine the whiff that would be evident whilst the videos were being filmed.
I'm with you both. It's like watching paint drying presented by the bloke in the pub you never want to get into a conversation with. I'm all for content that doesn't involve wrapping supercars and loud exhausts, but I found Hubnut unbelievably dull.
Although its a different kind of channel, worlds away from the bling, it's like looking back at yesteryear, a gentle time of carburettors and manual chokes... not knowing if the shed he's bought will make it home is far more exciting than predictable collection days at Redline like the others smile
Gave him another go as I spotted his mk3 GTI review. Thought it might be a a nice wee trip down many years like you say as I owned one of those 20 something years ago...

I got bored about half way through and flipped to something else. The bloke in the pub you never want to get into a conversation with is a perfect description. Also, the whiff comment cracked me up as I hadn't even realised i'd been thinking the same until i read that. No harm to the guy, he seems a decent and very genuine guy but i'm afraid I just don't get it.
I do know what you mean, like a someone you would not want to be stuck in a lift with, in a tower block with no concierge... I think it's YouTube policy to waffle, hence most of them robbing you of 3 minutes of your life before they've even opened the car door, let alone started the engine. You gotta make your 12 minutes or there's precious little payout for you. Where the other vloggers talk about "an epic video" (sorry Archie) or first world problems of a car in their garage they've ignored, HubNut does give a nice trip down memory lane, be it with his Aunt's Morris Minor, BMC / Leyland being cash strapped hence that's the way a car has quirks etc...

The Mk3 Golf GTI seemed good, but I remember the car being dull, if it was the VR6 then I would be interested. I had a very dull Mk3 Golf for work hears ago, the Mk4 was so much better...

Most of the videos I skim through now anyway, and that's all of these vloggers...

If he has gone into car sales then the majority of dealers fund their stock with finance and given he has a lot of connections in the industry I suspect it will be easy for him to move stock on which means he can get a bit of a head start.

Yes there is that benefit, but the falling value of stock and transaction volumes in high end sports/supercars across the board can't be helping. If he's got any sense he'll be building stock on SOR (at realistic prices!) to mitigate some of this.

Agreed, given his experience with Redline I'm sure he is aware of the market and has clearly spotted an opportunity to give it a go.

A brave move but I wish him all the best, he certainly comes across very personable.

I've watched quite a few of your videos. Honestly, I don't mind them but there is something that I can't put my finger on why I don't keep going back to them. Certainly not the cars themselves, as you post about cars that I very much like and find interesting. I think it might be that there isn't quite enough car history in them and also walking around shots of the car? Stuff like the engine bay, cockpit + controls, storage, etc and how they would be to live with.

I also agree with this - really like the cars featured in JayEm but would be nice to get more of the walk around in the videos. I think this is what makes Harry’s videos so good - you get a nice segment on some of the detail/ nuances of the car and design, and then the road test as well.

Good luck to Dean. I've bought 3 cars from him and found him great to deal with. I'm sure he will be missed at redline - he will have brought them alot of business via his social media and connections

Those two are everything thats bad about Youtubers. It's a race to the bottom on content and doubling up on events means any value brought is halved and continually divided down.

Next thing we know the 'Ten things I hate about my Ferrari' routine will be 'Five things I hate about my Ferrari part 1..'

Excited to see LLF covering a Fiesta Super Sport as something I used to lust over as a new driver. Excitement dropped after 5 minutes of him showing a complete lack of knowledge "did they have those little holes in the wheels?". rolleyes

Ignoring Tim, LLF is second only to JWW of the English YouTubers in terms of last 30 days views. The same as STG, TGE and archie combined.
