Got one coming soon. Can't wait!
Alongside that stunningly beautiful Bentayga, or to replace it? Will be interested to hear your thoughts comparing these two vehicles when you gte it.And lastly, does the Cullinan interest you? As that will likely take the mantel as King of the uber silly suvs.

Disagree. Worse than the Rodius:
Both are significantly better pieces of design than a Urus. I don't think I've seen anything so wrong looking as the headline photo.
Nope even that thing hideous as it is, is nowhere near as bad as the Ssanyong Rodius. It is the single most disgusting piece of automotive turd I’ve ever seen - even that Japanese fish-looking thing isn’t as bad (and that’s god awful)Both are significantly better pieces of design than a Urus. Haven’t made an SUV before? Ahem - what about the LM002!?
The "SUV" hadn't been invented in the 70s.The LM002 was in a class of one.
Late ‘85 to 94 ‘ish.
I still remember popping over to Portman Lamborghini at 16 (in ‘86) and asking if I could sit in their cars. School uniform etc. Greeted with ‘of course, jump in whatever you want and I’ll start them up for you’. A very fun couple of hours looking around a Countach, Jalpa and their first demo, red with beige LM002!
Tried the same request at Ferrari in Kensington and basically told to fckuk off.
(I don’t like any Ferrari product to this day)
- 410/412 excepted, although the Islero knocks even them out of the playing field.

Can’t blame vw group for the ultimate in badge engineering. Using the Q7 with so few modifications really has compromised the way it looks though (to say nothing of the drive). It will sell like hot cakes though as at the end of the day the badge is what matters in this sector.
I sort of admire vw for being so openly cynical about the marketplace!

Wow! Just wow, look at it.
Makes you really appreciate just how well resolved the lm002 was doesn’t it.
Where is the like button on PH! The LM002 makes every subsequent attempt at a performance off roader , with the exception of the G65, look like a fast estate with a raised 4x4 chassis. A friend of mine has a 2010 Cayenne Turbo, it’s great. However that’s what Porsche set out to do. The LM002 is an incredible thing; it had something approaching Hummer H1 off road ability with a Countach V12 and gearbox. I would show a tin of custard , but the tin of custard would be very past its sell by date since my day in an LM002. (As an aside, is the custard thing still going on PH?) Naming a car LM002 shows enormous confidence in itself. Such a cool car. The Urus looks ok, but it seems entirely unexciting. The original Urus prototype in metallic red looks terrific, the production version, entirely unexceptional, diluted by practicality and by the passage of time. Google the 2013 Urus prototype and you will see how anodyne this is by comparison.Makes you really appreciate just how well resolved the lm002 was doesn’t it.

How is it a sad day for Lamborghini?
The sales from this will fund future super cars in development
This will sell well, How many ****'s drive RR sports
It's a funny thing - one a given day there'll be customers for X number of expensive hypercars of whatever country of origin, number of cylinders etcetera. If Manufacturers were more in tune with that they'd possibly be able to plan their costs appropriately and not need to socialize the development costs of playthings for the wealthy via mobility for the less well heeled After all, it's usually the high end stuff which carries a greater margin and which funds development which then trickles down into the cheaper end of the range and where the margins are smaller. The sales from this will fund future super cars in development

The only way I could give less of a solitary stinking st about this vehicle is by not commenting on it at all.
But I just wanted to say it's not Lamborghini's first 4x4. Because it isn't. But who gives a fk anyway?
No one. This is a class nice by the brand whoever their lover lord may be. I can’t wait to see some on the roads. But I just wanted to say it's not Lamborghini's first 4x4. Because it isn't. But who gives a fk anyway?
I am naked as I write this.

I've always freely admitted the Bentayga is a) hideous and b) dull, and it will definitely be going (having shed a predictably hideous amount of cash) when the Urus arrives. I've specced it in the same green as in the pics accompanying this story (which is officially called Verde Hebe...perfect for that road trip to Tel Aviv) and I think it does have a certain brutal charm though I'm not a fan of the painted strakes at either side on the front which resemble BBQ forks. I also find it good fun when car makers make such enormous and relatively tall vehicles go insanely fast.
Finally, in answer to your last question funnily enough HR Owen emailed me yesterday asking if I'd be interested in a Cullinan. Deliveries apparently start in Jan 2019. I'm potentially interested but need to see a few more details because there's not a lot out there right now. Whatever it looks and goes like one thing I'm certain of is that it won't be winning any PH popularity contests!
I said before about Ferrari potentially making an SUV.... why?
People say "oh, that's what people want" or "it's the fasting growing niche" or "it makes money" things along those lines.
But hang on. For years, in the USA especially, the saloon (or 'sedan') could be applied to that sentiment, everyone wanted one and could be made a lot of money from. ...but where were the (official) Lamborghini and Ferrari saloons? Or estates? Or hatchbacks?
Yet we're now getting the SUVs - so far removed from the supercar philosophy that they almost have to reverse engineer them to be sporty so you're left with low riding, cramped, ugly carbuncles with huge wheels and dodgy design language.
Just because they can doesn't mean they should.
