Wow, you guys even show quicker wit, you really are awesomesmile

That's why I repeated your joke. As I was in awe!
Don't mess with the bikes or I'll have to pull out the Ninja 300 hehe

On a side note Harrison & Dunlop were flying (considering it was first practice) on the 600's yesterday we'll get an idea on the 1000's if the weather that's predicted holds off.

Imagine how fast they would be if they’d each been given a Porsche to drive round in. Men would want to be them and women would want to be with them. They’d need the 2 inch suspension lift and balloon tyres though to use the kerbs.

You mean they'd be dusting off their Rally 959 wink

I thought I'd drop these in:

AV185 did you watch the NW200 (it's on Iplayer if you didn't) highlights? I think you'll agree that circuit is more suited to cars than bikes.

Cracking drive out yesterday in the Chimaera, blitzed a couple of Evora's that were fannying around in the twisties, shortly followed by a couple of 911's mixed in with some bikes, they all appeared to be going at it like the fate of mankind was at stake, but I'm not sure any of them noticed me whizz past... scratchchin

1200hp of Veyron Vitesse vs an S1000RR in a straight line. Pretty conclusive.

Okay, on tighter roads and at more sensible speeds it would be closer, but if a capable rider on a modern sports bike chose to fk off into the distance, they most definitely would.

If you think anything else, based upon happening upon a bimbleing biker taking it easy on a country road, you are kidding yourself.

I'm not suggesting one is better than the other, of course there are times when a car can be far more pleasurable. But quicker? (Again, with a capable rider who was trying)...Very rarely.

Jeez this thread is still going! And the bikers are still congratulating each other with their heroic ridingsmile

Anyways, had a cracking drive on my way back from Llandudno last weekend. Lovely empty roads through South Wales in my old, slow 993 Porker. Not a biker to be seen anywhere... Guess they were so fast they were already home while I was still out there in my Porsche driving bliss biggrin
It’s barely worth bothering with old duffers in Porshaaas, most just stick to going slowly between toilet breaks biggrin

I find due to major insecurity issues they generally like the pack mentality and safety of a group.

And two bikers equals four wheels.

In fact the same as a car.

Like a car, your car, but way faster, not to mention more interesting. Did you have any luck digging out that race licence?

We have debated this far too much already and bikers agree on some roads a fast car is faster and on some the bike - its not as simple as a trying bike will always walk away from the car. And a really really fast car trumps all.

Yep and let's see how that bike 'performs' with pillion against the Bugatti lol.

Only then would it be a level playing field.

No no no no no.

Give the car the same width tyres and same diameter braking discs.

May as well limit the car to 200 bhp while we're at it.
