I wear a flat cap while driving my convertible Saab. I'm 34 but sadly I have the need to protect my head from the sun/cold.

No other hats suit me, the flat cap is only just about OK!

Didn't think it'd be possible to see three of the worst things in one thread:

MX5's
Fedoras (the worst)
Flat caps

Recently converted to a paperboy style flat cap. I'm too old to be wearing a baseball cap. Roof down in the MX5 messes up ones hair without appropriate head gear.

I own a flat cap, a Monjageo and can be frequently heard spouting "Brexit means Brexit" etc.

I'm 28 with a full head of hair.

I'm just into my 60th year, and sometimes wear a baseball cap (never in the car though) simply because the bigger peak keeps my specs dry!

Lets be honest, driving a convertible regardless of headwear makes most people look a bit of a git. The key is to accept that, stop giving a schist about it and just enjoy the drive.

What if it was a hard hat?

Corrected that for you. No one ever, anywhere, in the history of this planet, looked good in a baseball cap.

I have a flat cap but it doesn't really suit me. I want to be like Brian Johnson but I end up looking more like Slavic low grade mobster.

I wear a flat cap in the Morgan. But them I am of an age where it looks appropriate....

I also have these handy driving gloves with two red fingers for giving directions.

Unfortunately, the caravan dwelling, mathematical locksmith brigade - appear to have adopted this as their head coverage of choice (other than a balaclava when out robbing and thieving) around the North Kent area.

More likely to be the younger generation seen wearing one with a wife beater vest on - collecting your scrap from the end of the drive ....

My dad has a flat cap that he keeps in the car for when he has the roof down. He is bald, granted, but that doesn't stop him looking like a tragic tt. A fact I remind him of regularly when I see him wearing said hat!
