It's on forces cars direct, the offer is open for any services or ex services employees.

However I have spoken to my local dealer today and they have it at £16495 plus a deposit contribution of £750 (may have been £550) if you take a finance deal.

Going for a test drive on Saturday and will get a proper look at the numbers then.

Up GTI @£13220 on carfile !

I think the lights look ugly on the Swift - the previous one looked really quite good - not that I am in the market but the new one looks awkward - probably not helped by the colour externally or that horror 1980s red treatment inside !

The swift sport of say 2010 was a pretty decent little car. Not bad looking for what it was.

But how can they make the new car so ugly?
Seen a grey one yesterday ( most likely a sportier cooking model) with some red accenting. Looks rather good IMO. I like the bright yellow also but can see how it might be unflattering to the lines in places.

At least you stand a chance of getting the Swift in the near future. I ordered my up! 11 weeks ago and if the projected build date remains the same will collect it in another 20 weeks. At the moment I’m just keeping all fingers crossed that things will start moving a bit quicker.

I really like the Up GTI, and may consider one to replace my run-a-round Twingo 133 RS. But I'm going to hold on and see how tuneable it is. One with around 140-150BHP should be an absolute hoot.

I fancy mine in Red.

Never understood why people would choose a car because they don't want what everyone else has. A popular car is usually popular for a reason.

Agreed. That's why I only listen to Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, because popular =bestest

As the owner of a 2013 model SSS, if I wanted a new car I might be interested in the new model if it were offered at c£14k with the automatic gearbox from the Vitara or the 1.0 three pot Swift. However, the old model used very well tried and tested components and has, so far, been extremely reliable. The price to change would be too high for me at the moment.

I drove this on the launch at Silverstone. Genuinely impressed! Lots of torque and 975kg made it feel like a go-kart

I think the majority will buy this on finance and at £239 a month nothing down I think its decent enough value given what it comes with
