Listening to Manx Radio and it says Mark Higgins is going to bring the Subaru back to the island presumably to give it another go. Maybe next year’s TT?

Wonder why Subaru again... its hardly for marketing is it since they've shelved the impreza STI's etc and its pretty pedestrian over 100 compared to bikes and that's where the times made up.

Makes for some light entertainment again at others cost/risk

I guess it’s still good marketing for Prodrive and. Subaru. Apparently they’ve taken it all over the world to compete in different events. Of course in the meantime the bikes have got even faster!

I think this is half the problem - people assume faster is better and by saying 'a' is faster than 'b' people assume someone's saying 'a' is better than 'b'. In motorsport, racing bikes have always been considerably slower than racing cars, that's just the way it is and everyone involved in motorsport knows that. I've never heard anyone infer that one is better than the other based on that, they're just such a different experience.

I hope they get the road resurfaced, if they dont then that Subaru will fall to pieces over the crazy bumps.

You’re getting your cars mixed up. Subaru copes fine with the road surface. It’s just slow.

Because it would be *really* expensive to develop another car for it.It'll most likely be the same chassis as last time with some improvements.

It certainly would... But when it comes to marketing budgets (many millions for most if not all manufacturers) and the audience and chat/hype it gets ... I'd have thought it would be worth there while... However I could and probably am completely wrong

I don't have a horse in this race. Or, don't drag me into this, I'm a banana man.

Well bikes are faster than cars on the TT circuit. Many have hypothesised but those are the facts. It’s a bit like when a super bike overtakes your average M4 BMW like it’s going backwards. Disappointing but the truth.

Yep, they are the facts. All those bikes that compete each year are quicker than the couple of cars that have had a couple of laps.

Another fact is that this has all been done to death.

Well they shut the track to give somebody with the balls, the time to give it a go and to date MH and Prodrive are the only ones to give it a go. Yes they fell short but I applaud them for trying. So many armchair experts on here who cannot accept the outcome but would never try themselves. Just too hard I guess.

And this has been round and round more times than the bikes round the track.
