I placed an order, and have been flexible on colour but I still think it's a bit of along shot in terms of allocation.
I’d be interested to hear what the dealer said about allocation. Even if you are ‘first in line’ at your dealer, is it Suzuki uk who are allocating the cars to the dealers, I.e. they are choosing the dealer allocation, rather than allocating as per customer orders? So if you want a black sz5 one and are first in line, but the first 5 that the dealer gets allocated are not black then you aren’t actually ‘first’.SL22 said:

I'm sure there was a dark grey on the website but that wasn't available on the dealers PDF.

Just curious. Did anyone ever get any communication from Suzuki UK on these? I signed up via email on the website (and for the new Wrangler too).
Never heard a peep from them. Apart from Jeep confirming they would send me stuff, which they never did.
Yes. Three emails from them, one about the press getting them to review, one about a competition to win a drive, one about a video done by a pro photographer. I think they directed the enquiries to the local dealers to be doing the actual confirming of interest etc. But i’d already been in touch with a dealer months before...Never heard a peep from them. Apart from Jeep confirming they would send me stuff, which they never did.
Ha. As i was typing i’ve Just checked my email and had another from the national address saying you can now book a test drive - exclusively first for those who pre-registered. Which isn’t really news as some dealers have been advertising test drives for anyone via social media for at least a few days now.

I got similar emails to SL22 for the Suzuki. I'd also signed up for emails for the new Wrangler and have had next to nothing back from them.Never heard a peep from them. Apart from Jeep confirming they would send me stuff, which they never did.
Oh, thanks for the info above 300bhp/ton, it was a really interesting and informative read

From what I understand each dealer will provide Suzuki with the order specs and they will try and allocated to each dealer on that basis. I'm not massively convinced given the demand, and suspect if I'm lucky I will get a call with what they have coming in and will have to make a decision there and then.

Correct. We've lost Jungle Green too. UK is only getting:The available colours in the UK also seems to have been reduced. I'm sure there was a dark grey on the website but that wasn't available on the dealers PDF.
Superior White (standard)
Silky Silver (+£485)
Black Pearl (+£485)
Kinetic Yellow (+£650)
Brisk Blue (+£650)
Chiffon Ivory (+£650)

"I'm 40% Suzuki Jimny!"Chased my test drive up this week and have managed to move the test drive forward from Monday to this Friday (tomorrow). Salesman (who is really nice) told me they'll give me the keys and tell me to bring it back when I'm done with it. I've not been this excited about a car for a long time. I'll feedback my thoughts over the weekend for anyone interested, I'm out the Friday evening but should be able to at least have a good nose over it and drive it over a variety of roads/speeds bar any proper dirt tracks. The only car I've had anywhere near similar was a Yeti which I found quite capable, but numb as anything to drive, everything else has been very much normal, albeit sprightly, car focussed.
1000 units only being imported into UK per annum.
We have a Suzuki franchise on our site, and the sales team are so frustrated.
They are taking orders with absolutely no idea when/if the cars will ever arrive!
Imagine selling a car, with no flaming idea when/if you will ever get paid commission for it.
First UK allocation is already virtually sold, any demos registered, are currently, not likely to become available for sale any time soon.

My order is in All being well should arrive late Jan/early Feb 2019. Luckily dealer was allocated one in the colour and spec I wanted so that worked out well. Me and the missus found the car deceptively roomy inside given it's overall small stature, I'm 6 foot and had a good couple of inches head room. Ride was a lot more jiggly than what I'm used to, but expected on the unmaintained roads around the area. On better quality roads was very settled until a tight bend was reached, where a quick learning experience loading up the weight to the outer springs before steadily progressing around the bend. Steering was four turns lock to lock meaning you need to work it a lot more, something I'll need to get used to compared to the GT86 at two and a half turns. We got a wave from a previous gen Jimny on the test drive too which brought smiles to both of us.
Overall loved it though, felt agricultural but well built at the same time, with bags of character. I didn't find the engine cabin noise too intrusive despite what some youtube videos report. We both tried sitting in the back which provided ample room with of course the minimal boot space, but for short trips and occasional long I think they'll be fine, certainly better than the GT86
I've achieved my aim though, replacing the reliable and fun GT86 with another characterful car
Great experience dealing with Michael Chan at Stoneacre Chesterfield Suzuki. Really nice guy with a healthy interest in proper cars made the whole experience good.

Its shocking
We have about 40 test drives booked on the jimny and we are getting an allocation of 2 until April.
we cant even take orders as we have no idea of what stock we will get and when, Even Suzuki are pretty much trying to admit we wont be able to supply cars to people so just put them towards the ignis or vitara.
