I did see that and it made me chuckle, I should hope they are not trying to charge that, Suzuki would certainly have something to say about it if they were at that price and its a demo.

Nice, that would be my first choice colour, but one I would want to see in the flesh first to be sure. It looks a bit paler in that photo than the configurator suggested though?
Yes, a bit darker and more beigey in the flesh, think the white balance on my camera was a bit off.

I've just passed by my local Suzuki dealer and they had a line green one out front.
Such a great looking car.

No, it's sand camo.

Tried to capture the colour a bit better in this pic, less cream and more beige.

Colour looks really cool! Liking the grille too, dealer-fitted option?

Might buy A/Ts once the Bridgestone H/Ts wear out, but tbh other than aesthetics they'll be a waste of money for my use. It'll cope with anything I'm likely to throw at it on stock tyres and they'll be better on tarmac.

Thanks, yes dealer option. Also has detachable towbar/electrics pack and rear parking sensors fitted as accessories.

I wonder if the Ignis is selling well too. It's a fab little thing (Suzuki are on a roll!) and available in 4WD, I imagine more than capable enough for a significant number of those looking at Jimny's in the UK.

When it comes to replacing our Citigo I'm struggling to justify the Jimny, even though it's a wonderful looking thing, when the Ignis will do everything we need 99% of the time.

The Ignis is popular round where I live in West Yorkshire. We have some big dealers nearby (Appleyards and Luscombes) which helps and a lot of people like all wheel drive because we have plenty of hills and bad weather. There doesn’t seem to be a typical driver either. Lots of old folk but plenty of youngsters too. In fact it’s amazing how many Suzukis of all kinds you see about the place.

My Parents had an old Jimny and found it very handy in the winter because of where they live with the hills and snow. I was hoping they were going to get the new Jimny but they have an Ignis and like it so much because of the 4x4 and the great fuel economy they wont be changing.

Ignis is fine for tooling around town and a bit of snow, but it's not in same same league as the jimmy off-road.

Depends what you want it for.

TBH if you don't plan to go off road, there is little point in getting the Jimny. It does have a slightly higher driving position and for some might be easier to get in/out of. But it's main purpose is off road ability.

It'd be like umm and arrring over an Elise or Fiesta diesel. If you don't drive quickly nor intend on track days, the Elise would be wasted and not the right car to just drive about in. The Jinmy is much the same, but it's specialty isn't fast performance and track work, it's off roading.

Ignis is almost certainly a more practical proposition for on road use and is a characterful car in its own right, but not quite as daft and fun as the Jimny. I definitely don't need its off-road capabilities, but currently fully in love with its quirkyness. Only car I'd consider replacing it with would be a 964 or earlier 911.

These things are just so damned good at what they do, you can understand why people hold onto them.

Hopefully got a new one arriving in a couple of weeks, can't see us parting with the current one though smile

I agree that the Ignis is a great little car. I almost bought one, but went with the Swift in the end. It's a shame they don't do the boosterjet engine in the Ignis.

Good luck with that. The bridgestone H/Ts on my 06 Jimny lasted 105k miles. One of the advantage of having pickup truck tyres on something so light as the simply don't wear, I replaced mine with General Grabber AT3s and have barely scrubbed 1mm off in 10k miles.

Yeah I made the same point back in December and you weren't having it...

Unless you live on a farm or work in a quarry, the only advantage the Jinmy has over the Ignis seems to be that it looks cooler... You need to balance that against the significant price difference and the Jimny's compromised on road performance.
Road performance really isn’t that compromised tbh. It’ll get from A to B perfectly fine. And it’s still a pretty cheap vehicle in the grand scheme of things. It will also be easy to park due to its body shape. And have a commanding driving position, even if it’s not overly tall.

"This fourth generation retains the boxy, functional aesthetic of the third-gen car, albeit here slightly larger and with updated styling."

Not read all 37 pages, but am I the only one who thinks the Gen3 car looks more like a modern facelift and the Gen4 as the obsolete model?
