Very nice...looks much better on steels than alloys.

I saw a guy driving a new Suzuki Jimny this morning in Chesterfield; he had spec’d it in green.

It isn’t the colour that I would have chosen but the car itself looks great! cool

Great to see people collecting their Jimnys and hearing about their experiences.

My silver SZ5 should be here in 5 weeks time.

I'm not sure if there are luggage nets and other things available for the Jimny, it has tie down loops and such in the boot. With the seats down, I suspect it is more intended as a utility type truck, much like the Defender.

If you want a boxy, compact'ish 4x4, with a separate boot. Then maybe the Jeep Renegade is worth a look.

Obviously not as capable as the Jimny off road, but this might not be an issue, depending on your intended use.
Same as above really. Long term durability, it's a FIAT product essentially. I do take the Defender off road, and maybe I would with a Jimny if I had one, but that isn't its main purpose. It does have to manage a very rough, fairly steep un-adopted track to the house though, which will scrape the underside of a normal car (like the A Class!) and its gets badly iced over in the cold. Plus I have had trouble with modern part time 4 wheel drive systems, a traditional system like the jimny has does hold some appeal. My BMW suffered from a failure in the X-drive system which caused it to lock the centre diff/clutch/coupling/whatever at the wrong time, such as on a long dry fast curve, causing some very strange behaviour and transmission wind up. I am not convinced these types of system are that robust if they are called into use regularly.
Isnt a plus sized Fiat 500 underneath? I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole

Not to be confused with the 500L, which is Peter Kay's car in Car Share

Can't believe the values of the older shape models at the moment, late platers look like they're fetching pretty much the same as when they were new!

Spoke to a lad the other day selling one that needs the sills welded up.

He's been offered £1600 for it.

I agree prices are crazy, we sold a two year old one with low miles for the same price as it was when it was new !

Yep, last week I saw an 8 year old 2 owner SZ4 Auto with 45k go through trade auction at a shade under £8.5k. Even with a nice history and pretty much ready to retail that money seems complete madness.

Great things though, glad they're being appreciated before they've disappeared smile

Any truth in rumours that dealers will be allowed to sell their demo vehicles soon, rather than after 12 months as originally said? (Someone seems to have taken delivery of one on Saturday...). Suppose it could make sense if there is a 12+month waiting list as why would people need a test drive if there are no cars to buy!

Another rumour that the press cars are being made available to dealers to sell ASAP.

as far as im aware we are not suppose sell them as you say they are worried we wont have a car to show customers, I have heard of some dealers selling their demo.... wouldn't put it past some of the bigger franchises.

again I have heard the press car rumour, can only say we haven't been offered these cars yet so cant confirm it

Picked mine up last week, auto SZ5. Love it. It's like a series Land-Rover and a Citroen 2CV had a beautifully formed baby smile

...and yes, I did choose that colour on purpose biggrin

Nice, that would be my first choice colour, but one I would want to see in the flesh first to be sure. It looks a bit paler in that photo than the configurator suggested though?

Is this a dealer selling their own demo? (for a rather inflated price!)

I did see that and it made me chuckle, I should hope they are not trying to charge that, Suzuki would certainly have something to say about it if they were at that price and its a demo.
