I wonder if there is any relationship between flip flop wearers and the soft-top-down-at-all-times fraternity?

quite possibly - my soft top is down at all possible times and I love driving in bare feet, which in turn means I throw on sandals when I get out of the car

Conversely, I'll have the top down whenever I can (i.e. not raining) and wouldn't drive in flip-flops nor bare feet. Deck shoes or FiveFingers

Well bang goes that idea.

I have driven in flip-flops, and I have driven with the top down, but never simultaneously.

People who wear flip flops outside a beach environment are massive strokers imo. A bit like the rayban crew. 'we're so cool'
Your life must be quite dull smile
To be fair I can sort of agree with him.

Same as those tossers who wear shorts when it's 8 degrees outside.

You mean cyclists, runners, those tossers?

So what if somebody wants to wear shorts outside when it's 8 degrees, FFS, this place is weird.

I quite often find it more comfortable to wear shorts and a long-sleeved fleece top or lightweight packable insulated jacket than longer trousers, especially if I'm being particularly active. I really dislike the sensation of sweaty legs in jeans

Next mission, flip flops, roof down in the griffith, wearing shorts at 8 degrees, with Raybans on....anything else?

I drive with the top down all the time, because my Caterham is so difficult to get in and out of and so bl**dy noisy with the top up! Driving it in flip flops would probably be the last thing I ever attempted, there is hardly room for extra narrow driving shoes in the footwell laugh

We have been in France in a motorhome for a few weeks and I often drive barefoot. No issue whatsoever with control ever. Been doing it for years in hot weather. No probs

Really?
Yes... "Strokers" - which says everything we need to know.
