Ford Capri 2.8 injection , MGB roadster, MGB GT, TVR Chimaera.
Never owned a Capri, but owned the others. Really regret selling the MGB GT and TVR which I owned at the same time, they really covered all bases for me. Will buy again one day.

I achieved about 3 years ago when I bought my Audi RS2 then 18 months ago decided I needed a Lotus Carlton in my life too, so went and got one. I still have both and they're great cars and better than I ever thought they would be.

That looks like a pretty fun morning out.

For me it was the Escort Cosworth Monte and Elise.

Doubt I will ever ever get a Cosworth never mind a Monte. To be honest, even though they turn my head when I see one more than any supercar I don't think they do it for me anymore. As it would be a second fun car, an expensive hatch wouldn't be my choice at the moment.

Now own my second Elise, still feel like a kid when I open the garage and start it up ready for an early run out.

E46 M3.

I saw a Laguna Seca blue one in Chinatown in the early noughties

Young lad driving it and he had about three fit girls in it.

I owned one for some time eventually. In silver/grey though

Dakar Yellow E36 M3 (3.0-litre model). I toyed with ordering a current-gen M3 in Dakar Yellow, but then decided that the C63 was better, but then didn't buy either as I didn't fancy the depreciation that both would be subject to. hehe

As a youngster at school I was captivated by photos of Jim Clark three wheeling his MK1 Lotus Cortina around Silverstone . I eventually got one ,albeit an early 1500GT , but the car that really caused me years of aspiration was the BMW E24 when it was launched in it's unadulterated form.
Many interesting cars came and went but due to the E24's propensity to rust at the sight of a damp cloth it took me until recently to sctratch that itch .
Looks wonderful. Has it lived up to your expectations?

Excellent answer to the 'saloon or estate?' question; top marks.

I remember yearning for my dad to buy a new Dolomite Sprint. He got as far as the British Leyland dealer to be fair but came back with a new Austin Maxi 1750. It'd have hurt less had it had been the twin carb HL version.....but no.

£8.5k could have me living the dream

but then they say it's better never to meet your heros.

It has Sir .
I just couldn't find one as good as I wanted but this one was original , 70K miles with eye watering service history but had been stored for nearly ten years .It came with it's own hidden horrors but I restored it myself over two years doing all the work myself and enjoyed every minute of it .

I prefer the earlier more svelte design and as an effortless grand tourer is just a delight to drive .

Great pic we’ve certainly got similar taste - but you actually have gone through with it. I wish I would take more risks.

My / one of my dream cars was the SL55K and the TVR Cerberus 4.5 Red rose (but loved he phase 1 the most). Another was the DB7 and also the XKR and the C6 RS6

But so so many have slipped away for good.

I just came here to post the same thing. My friends uncle had one and I thought it was the best looking car about.

I was trying to work out where that is, Ayr beach perhaps but I am not 100% sure

Thanks I didn't just think it was the profile of Ailsa Craig in background but wasn't just sure. It is remarkably similar.

I spent a cold windy week in Weston in Nov 2007, arrived on the Sunday just as the beach race finished and had the dubious pleasure of attending a week long enforcement course at Dauncy's hotel.

Took bloomin ages to get back to Scotland on the Friday after the course finished.

That's a pretty eclectic list but humour me...Renault 25 and Peugeot 405 GTX 1.9? Nothing wrong with the 405 but why not the SRi or Mi-16?
