That smacks of a man who's wife has left him and moved in with a toyboy and who is now waiting on 50% proceeds of the house sale

To put off any potential buyers our hero has removed all the furniture from the dining room and replaced it with a car lift and his car
One day I hope to aspire to this.

What is the opposite of a forecourt shot?
Is that the new owner of your lovely P38 driving off?
If so - congratulations!

Sure is. Sad times but I’ve had a great 4 years with it. Time for a child to take my money but I’ll be back men of barge.

I should have said commiserations, as well as congratulations.
It looked like a good 'un.

I'm the only one who thinks the S Type still a bad looker, then?

I like it it in R form. That car is local to me, think I'll go and see it just to see the garage.

Lunchtime on Wednesday, managed to arrange a work trip back to Leeds so it’s a fully funded car caper. I will take the obligatory petrol station shot!

I like them a lot, always have pre or post facelift. My friend had a 4.0 which he 'upgraded' with a straight through exhaust that he bought from someone on an owner's club forum who was selling because "it was far too loud." The guy selling it was absolutely right, it was stupidly loud, my friend is American thus does not do subtle so loved it.

I think they have improved with age greatly, getting one in the right spec is essential. A black R with 5 spokes and black/cream leather, yes please! Washed out light blue with brown/cream leather, errr no thanks.

The STR is a proper alternative to the (overpriced imo) E39 M5.

The S Type's engineering goes as far as having a hook on the passenger side dashboard to hang a Chinese takeaway bag from. It's an insult to compare an S Type to an E39, M5 or other model.

An s type has useable cup holders though, so swings and roundabouts wink

Pourquoi? Yes the M5 will be the better 'drivers' car, but there is nothing wrong with an S-Type Rs suspension for a large 4 door saloon, remember the XFR shared much the same components... And sorry, but the 4.2 Supercharged is a fanastic engine, both M5 and STR producing around 220bhp/ton stock.

My M5 cupholders actually tried to kill me...

Maccy d's coke in the cupholder and pulling out of a side road it tipped over and covered the driver's side floor, all over the mats and under the seat. Annoying but cleaned it up best I could and thought no more about it.
Next day, in the outside lane of a dual carriageway, proceeding at a reasonable speed, the seat electrics shorted out and I started slowly, inexorably, moving forward... And forward... And forward... no amount of button pressing or pushing back could stop it! I thought it was never going to stop and this would be quite the story for the accident investigator to work out and put on my obituary. Turns out it stops just before the point of certain death, but It's quite tricky to drive a car at 70mph with your knees round your ears and your balls on the wheel biggrin

Did the spillage damage the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal too?

"Maccy d's coke" should be on the council thread, but not being able to lift your foot off the pedal is the real problem.

hehe
Hush, I may have employed mild dramatic licence, it was more amusing than unsafe.

Hi Max, hope you’re ok.

Loving the Benz, I’ll be daily-ing it until Christmas (unless the salt comes out) to work out what needs going then garaged until spring to do the work. It’s a wonderful thing to barrel round in, people love it. A colleague piped up that his dad had an Evo 1 back in the day! eek

I’ll WhatsApp you later today. If it’s not obvious to the tread, Max sold me his azzuro blue 190LE bounce

I cant believe I haven’t taken a single picture of it yet, but here’s one from Max’s Readers Ride thread;
