I would, what could go wrong?
Very little actually. Even the air suspension that Jaguar beards wet their pants in terror over is fairly straightforward. They are far less sophisticated than a contemporary 7 Series for example, and appear to be very robustly made. Plenty of 2nd hand parts, and even Jaguar OEM parts aren't crazy. There probably isn't a lower risk £2.5k barge this side of an LS400.

Sport spec is sometimes a bit mean but that has heated seats and screen.
Just under the cost for the last service on my S6 - bargain. I don't think my wife would be impressed if I 'solved' the expensive S6 problem by bringing home another barge....

It's worth the money just for the non-cream seats.

Thanks chaps! I did rather fancy the little Fiesta, but I don't have pockets that are Ford deep.

It's a manual in CD spec with black leather with in-op heated seats and non-functioning cruise. The lack of spoiler really sold it to me for the added sleeper points. It's done 128k miles and aside from the current owner who bought it to save it being scrapped belonged to the previous owners for 14 years. The MOT history is squeaky clean.

It's a London car and it looks it. There is no corner untouched, but that's all part of the charm. Drives great aside from something that rattles over larger bumps, it's super smooth and plenty quick.

It really ought not to be in this thread since it cost me just £420.
Very cheap, is it a pre ETM car too? (has throttle cable)

The celica is having a brake refurb at the moment as well, so whilst I wholeheartedly agree, I feel currently that it is a code more honoured in the breach than in the observance...

The barge gods have been kind to me today. My 210 e55 passed its MOT, only needing a tyre (wheel alignment must be out as it's not done many miles) Apart from being stung for £180 +vat for a Michelin pilot sport 4 I'm a happy man!

Nice one smile

Now, seeing as you've got off so lightly, go get that stainless exhaust hehe

Winsome green with beige cloth W124 260E with 88k miles and 10 months ticket for precisely mid-thread pre-haggle. Not the cleanest MOT ever suggests you're in for a good time, not a long time.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

or at a steep(ish) £3995 there's a 48k pre-Sacco 300E (ad mentions 4Matic, gulp) with heated grey cloth and wonky wings.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Coincidentally these cars are for sale about 10 miles apart so you could make a day of it.

Either way your local bodyshop and motor factors will be wishing you a Merry Christmas...

I am looking at this, pretty seriously. Any views? It feels like giving up the faith considering a modern (albeit a ten year old one). It is not the grey-grey it looks in the picture but rather 963 Indium Grey, a kind of brown-grey. Chassis number wdb2112222b368896. Anyone know the garage?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Great colour, looks well cared for.

- the headrests for the rearmost seats aren’t shown; they will be difficult / expensive to replace if awol.
- the toneau cover can be parked in that position, but should rise up the D pillars when the boot is opened.
- your press on driving style will suit it, they hate pootling and coke up if that’s all they do.
- they can rust around the rear arches, tales of late models bring immune are wrong.
- in the not too distant future/miles, it will benefit from replacement of the rear suspension struts (they get tired); our 135k mile 09 S211 will be having new engine and gearbox mounts over Christmas.
- change the gearbox fluid every 35k miles, not just after the first 35k.

It's not a 4matic but it is a pretty full spec for an early car.

A W124 320e. Looks decent, but sunroof needs looking at, and headliner replacing.

It's that weird GM 54 degree V6 as featured in the Vectra as a 2.5 and the Omega as a 2.5 and 3.0.

Aside from the pick'n'mix veneers on the dashboard, that looks like a potentially very nice car, albeit towards the more disreputable end of our little spectrum. Like.

That’s a good result. Mine is going in next week so hoping for a similar outcome. Never pleasant to have a large bill just before Xmas!

That looks lovely.

It's no Aero, but that might be a good thing for wafting. I'm sure it'd be a very nice thing to own and I'm not one for seeing less desirable engines as pointless on older barges.
