I am determined that 2019 is going to be a year of zen-filled joy of peace and love. But until that moment kicks-in, the two of you can fk right off.
Golf clubs fit very well in the Honda Legend and Lexus SC430 - could be quite the fleet. Maybe.
C6 exclusive, heavy miles @152k, but only 2.5k...

In case anyone's frothing at the mention of the delightful SC, I feel able to post this under one of 0a's exemptions. Great colours, in budget.

Reassuring miles and a winter bargain. Be the envy of the tanning salon and nails car parks. I love it.

As I age I actually value and take pleasure in offensive interiors like this:
Yellow wood... yeah you have a problem with that?

Quick in with the first dibs, I like it! Haha. Although I can see this one sticking around, I always say that...
Sadly the thread budget has been sadly bypassed, although it would have been exceptionally nice if it was sub £5k! I'm expecting it'll go through about that in the first year maintenance, so does that count?
An SC430 would, I'm sure, be a fine automobile, but imo it's a bit too Florida retirement village. a 500SL-32 has to be the way forward, especially in Claude Monet spec!
It's okay you come in under the thread "Mercedes" clause Sadly the thread budget has been sadly bypassed, although it would have been exceptionally nice if it was sub £5k! I'm expecting it'll go through about that in the first year maintenance, so does that count?

Pity the rear seat passengers in that Lexus...
Anyway, this is a rarity, Rover 420GSi estate. £1200 and had money spent.

0a, thank you for the implementation of the “Mercedes Clause”, a worthy note to be added to almost anything I post on here. Although, the occasional B** might slip through the net.
Often used, and allows 190s, r129s and so on into the thread regardless of car format and budget. Also see the little known 'French Car' clause which is one of the few ways that a diesel car is permissible here (eg Citroen C6 2.7, any CX etc). ian316 said:
I think the Peugeot 407 coupe should be allowed in under the "French Car" clause but a bit like CDG'S sc430 it'll probably get a big BOO
All sorts of cars come in under the French Car clause - from 205 CJ Convertibles to 407s. I am sure others will remind us of the wider rules for the thread outside of the Mercedes and French clauses.
We have standards to maintain after all (very low ones).

Chipping in with today’s other purchase.
Have to say it’s great to be back in an R129, and the car itself is in better shape than I dared hope. There are issues to sort (roof stuck in place, exhaust blowing, bit of rust). And I had an eventful run home, the wiper mechanism decided to st itself in the drizzle of the M62 prompting a roadside codge job. But overall the car is pronounced fit, not only by me but by r129sl who also put the car through its paces, plus was extremely generous enough to taxi me around when British rail failed and provided refreshments, car chat and a very lovely period ‘129 brochure. Top man.

That looks fantastic in those colours. I always appreciate the ambers. Have to say it’s great to be back in an R129, and the carbitself is in better shape than I dared hope. Regarding the wiper I take it that this is the motor failing - had that with a couple of my old mercs. Surprisingly expensive for the parts (£150 if I remember correctly) but one of those things.
With regards to the roof make sure you buy some fluid and top it up - a lot of the time this will get you through a few years. It's a very complicated system to fully seal at a few decades old - but you may be in my category of accepting it leaks, but the leaks are slow enough that you just top it up every couple of years.
Must find my r129 and get it back on the road!
r129SL is a real gent isn't he? Lovely chap with a nice (and patient!) family

Compare it to any Mercedes SL. None of these are genuine 4-seaters in any kind of real-world way. 0a said:

The motor seems to be running OK, it looks like it’s the drive mechanism between motor and wiper stalk. Just having a google around at the moment: it was running slow prior to failure even on the fastest setting (there may be a lubrication procedure that sorts this) so maybe it was on it’s way.Reasonable Mercedes mono wiper information here

Looks so good in Astral Silver with 15 holes. Dare we ask how well within thread it was, or will the vendor have you up for contempt?
