I had a look at these previously, they appear to be cavernous but likely to have been Taxis. I expect they wear their miles well so a risk of clocking like the E-Class? It also looks like they like a drink and firmly in the £540 per year tax bracket. I bet the kids would appreciate their own seats though! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
Lot of car for the money though. Literally.
This was the best option I could find a couple of days ago:

An Autotrader selection.
Buy the trio for the price of a new Fiesta.
I think if you bought the Merc or BMW and turned up in the works car park with it, no-one would believe you'd spent less than 5 bags.Buy the trio for the price of a new Fiesta.
That Merc looks especially good for the mileage, although there's no good shots of the driver's seat.

The current owner is clearly a wrong'un, but remove the badge/sticker and tget some nicer wheels (or just repaint them, but I'm not a big fan) and it'd be a very lovely thing and surely worth a cheeky offer.
MOT history suggests it did 40k between the last two tests.
But when an SWB E38 V12 crops up for £500 more, could you have an E65 instead?

Especially on style 32s.

Buy the Mercedes and 3 very large shop dummies and never suffer road rage again. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Far from perfect, but that car, in that colour combo, has stirred a hankering that is rare for me for anything from the propellory-crowd. Krikkit said:

Money no object, yes. The E65 is fundamentally a much better steer. It can cost some tk keep going, mind. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163488595698

I've had a couple of E65s and an E38 and have to agree. Apart from the looks and the maintenance costs the E65 is a better car in all other respects. However, that E38 does have a V12, i've not had a V12 yet

I know it's wrong to be a concours nit, that garage queens are just big Matchbox toys for sad rich men trying to fill the void and that cars are made to be driven. But an early W201 in those colours with 9000 miles.. yes please!!
Can we have the next barge meet at JOB's house please? The Man has finally assented to take the Scatmobile in for a good going-over so late March is a good time.
I'm not usually in for that whole scene either, I usually attend the MB Concours but park in the spectators thing and don't worry about the brake dust I've accumulated on route. I might enter the 16v in pleb class this year but I'll probably come last. Can we have the next barge meet at JOB's house please? RE Barge Meet at JOBs house. One nearby would be great - somewhere around Chatsworth. There are some fabulous pubs, and roads around here should it be of interest I'm happy to arrange....
In other news: if anyone fancies a bit of really big barge, high mileage, mid 2000s Benz-ness, a trader pal of mine has just taken a 2006 W221 S600 as PX. One owner from new, FMBSH, 212k miles and naturally every toy under the sun. It all works, has no ABC faults and drives well, would annihilate a 997 C4 in a straight line (trust me), but has an engine mount vibration when cold. £3k, if you dare.
