The allure of significantly sub £5k V12 motoring is extremely strong, there’s no denying that.
I'm getting one of these in the next year or so. Will be spending above thread budget though, but they can be had well below thread budget.https://carfromjapan.com/cheap-used-toyota-century...
Can a V12 Century really be landed and road legal in the UK for less than 5 bags? I can't recall seeing one.
I think if you had a face-melting performance car for giggles the Toyota would be much more special than an S-class or 7-er with a V12... The attraction of course is that they do both horizon-blurring and bargeyness in one package.

Doug DeMuro did a piece on the Century yesterday (not v12).

The VG40 (see, I can now do the E/W number thing on you lot) is not my bag, very much a sixties car. I prefer the GZ50 for the engine and modernity with the classic looks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl_Euj_qNoM

Just about.
Not as dynamic and certainly not as face melting as an S600 or 760 but better built from better materials.
I don't doubt this for a second. There is a readers thread from a chap running a 2007/8 ish CL and if Toyota engineers ever created anything so shoddy they'd be made to commit seppuku with a tablespoon. Rightly so, too.Not as dynamic and certainly not as face melting as an S600 or 760 but better built from better materials.
Off topic but found some Speedhunters AMG Hammer content, thus thought the rules will lapse.... sadly not for sale

That looks a smashing mini barge, although I'd have liked one of the more interesting interior colour schemes.. They don't seem to be rusting either. A better small car for the penny pinching barge-man than anything german you'd get for £1500?ShampooEfficient said:
That white "facelift" limo. Its so bad I actually thought it was built out of a Lexus LS with Merc bits glued on...
I think the talented wordsmith collective here could easily procure a veritable and hugely superior smorgasbord of pejorative-strewn insights regarding that eyesore than I ever could, so I'll stand clear. That aside, did anyone else think that even the front number plate - which is of standard size, font etc - looks wrong?!

That era of z4 now looks incredibly good compared to the next one - and the new one. Shows how right the design was, and how lost BMW are now.
The M and Alpina versions look even better. I’d take the Alpina.
No wonder we didn’t hear from you for a while - prepping to derin standard takes months/years at a time!
It's good to hear you old salts praising these original Z's. :-)The M and Alpina versions look even better. I’d take the Alpina.

When you consider how much better metal is around for the money, you'd be mad to buy that. And only 256bhp from a 4.6 V8 in a car made in 2006? I'd much rather an E65 750i and some change left for repairs/servicing.
Another one leaving Chesterfield for the last time. A local car from new with it's original Bridgegate Chesterfield dealer sticker and number plates, 75k miles and Alpine White with BBS' - THE spec for an E30!
N.B. The W201 is the better car.

Toyota Century. I have an increasing level of want for one of these. I can’t really explain why but I do.
I became aware of them about ten years ago and found them interesting but hadn't thought owning one, and my long term Turbo R (owned about 15yrs) was a keeper. I did actually part with the Bentley a few years back though. Then about 18 months ago I got the Century itch, not least with my son now living and working in Japan, I started to learn more about them, and a year ago decided yes, defo get one. It's now locked in and I scour Japanese auctions and dealer sites every few days.JOB2.5-16 said:

I loved my e30 325i only sold because the kids got to big for the back, I got a 525 to replace it what a disappointment that was N.B. The W201 is the better car.

Still never driven an E30, I get the impression I might never manage it with how their prices/rarity is going!
More details required on the Turbo R!
