Investment potential in a 60K mile Ford?
No.
Are you not fron the UK? It seems that you know nothing of the market so I assume not.No.
Ford fair show is bigger than every other car show in the UK, Ford are top of the pops here for enthusiasts.
mileage cars attractive as an investment proposition. So I think he has a valid point.
that is obviously different if you buy it to drive

Personally I love the look of these, and I suspect I'll get flamed for this, but I test drove a standard one a couple of years ago with the intention of getting one, not as a daily though, and was mildly disappointed, never thought about one again.
Shame, really thought its combination of looks, power & residuals was nigh on perfect
Mine was greatly improved by the Mountune 350 kit, made the car feel "finished".Shame, really thought its combination of looks, power & residuals was nigh on perfect
The boring leather seats make the interior look a bit less cheap.
Never noticed the torque figure for the 375 kit before, that's a big improvement over mine !
Horrific interior.
I was tempted once for a few mins to buy an RS Focus but glad I didn't. Great performance and value but just not right.
I've no doubt that a few savvy folk have low mileage examples tucked away for 10-15yrs time from now, it could be very similar to the cossy market. I can remember driving a £7k sapphire cossy with 330bhp which was a right nail. It's prob doubled in value since...

yes I'm serious. In the way that in the 70s teenage boys had posters of a lamborghini Miura ... for me that was the poster of the alien green Focus RS. Its a complete dream car, when I see one on the road it's like seeing a Pagani Zonda, it feels like magical.MDL111 said:

As a £20k ownership prospect/potential investment the Ford is probably safer than putting £20k into a car from any other manufacturer.

Unlike other extreme hot hatches of the time (Megane R26.R, we’re looking at you), there are five seats and a proper boot, so the RS is also a genuinely useable car.
The RS only has 4 seats. Boot is decent enough though.Who knew?
Certainly puts me off a little as with 2 kids just sub-teen I’d possibly need to have space for one of their friends. Shame that the lack of a centre seatbelt doesn’t automatically mean a delete of KISS radio station (if the car has DAB radio of course)
I'll echo the statements about this not really being much of an investment at that mileage, at that mileage I'd say it's one to be used a bit, and maybe stave off a bit of depreciation at best. Investment ones start with a mileage a lot lower. I bought my standard one at the start of 2015 from a dealer for £20k, on 24k miles.

Lovely car, always wanted one of these when they came out..
Got to say, not quite sure why they command the current pricing (fast ford tax?) - I sat in one at a local performance car dealer and thought no way in hell was this worth 19/20k ... I'm not one to normally care about interiors but it did feel particularly cheap, but then again I guess you wouldn't buy one to stroke the interior. I didn't hear the glorious engine noise or take it for a drive though, Would love to have a ride in one and see how it compares to my CTR.
Awww, maybe because your CTR isn't worth as much you don't think it is worth that. The prices only reflect supply and demand. If there was none, it would be priced far lower.Got to say, not quite sure why they command the current pricing (fast ford tax?) - I sat in one at a local performance car dealer and thought no way in hell was this worth 19/20k ... 20k will get you a lot of very nice RWD performance machinery... E46 or E90/92 M3, E39 or E60/61 M5, Merc C63/E63, etc... even the cheaper end of DB9s.
Not everyone wants RWD, on your subject 20k would also get you a lot of very nice 4WD performance machinery, now 4wd beats RWD; put that in your pipe and smoke it.Some may wonder my previous posts, but I get fed up of seeing everytime an article with the mk2 Focus RS the same select amount of people post the same hater st all the time. They prat on about other cars they would buy, but when PH do articles about these other cars, the same posters NEVER put any comments on those articles. It makes you wonder, do they even like the cars they go on about.
If I had the money to chose between the two, I would go for the new Fiesta ST. You cant beat that new car feeling, and I couldn't justify spending £20k on a used car unless it was an additional car. I bought a Focus RS from new, but given the option now, I would go for the Fiesta ST, new Focus RS, BMW M2 or even the Mustang.

Do the exhausts double up as a tennis ball launcher? They're huge!!
DRY!!!If you think they are huge, then take a look at a Audi RS3, RS5, RS6.
Maybe one day you would be able to buy an M3/M4 instead of the wannabe 335 M sport. I bet you probably the type to say I can modify it and it would be as fast as an M3.

Running costs. My Focus ST cost no more to service than a standard TDCi Focus. Insurance is cheap, it just the tax and fuel economy.
I know that my E46 M3 was a lot more expensive to run than any other hot hatch. £900 odd per an Inspection service at BMW.
