best kit to lift front end
Discussion
Lee,
RCR guys (both GT40 and SLC) are using a ramliftpro kit that uses hydraulic pucks that install in your coil overs.

That web site is typically unhelpful.
Shows no pictures of the rams installed nor any info as to how much space will be required.
The ram installs between the bottom of the spring and the ride height adjuster ring. On the Ultima there is not enough free adjustment unless shorter springs are fitted. Not the end of the world but no mention of it on the web site.

No experience of any kits but something that is on my 'list'
I am aware of:
https://www.kwsuspensions.co.uk/products/hydraulic... - no specific kit for Ultima, but I expect that it wouldn't be much effort to get one made.
https://www.mittlerbros.com/hydroshox-kit.html - more for the lowriders I expect.
I am pretty sure Ohlins do/used to do a system as well but can't find any info atmo
I assume this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLNrmhkPmlg is a diy solution, maybe not. Appear to be in North America, you might have some luck contacting him

Half thought about doing something myself.
Replace the top shock mount with a bell crank and then install inboard linear screw actuator(s). Wouldn't be that difficult?
That's exactly how I would do it. Maybe not the lightest way, but easy to do. Replace the top shock mount with a bell crank and then install inboard linear screw actuator(s). Wouldn't be that difficult?
Stance do a pneumatic lift kit using cups that fit on top of the coil overs, one of my friends uses them on his 350Z and rates them highly. I will be installing these on mine.

I like those. No new springs required.https://www.stanceparts.com/
But..spec say ID of spring 61 min and I just measured a spring and it is 60. At the same time I can't see from the design why the ID would be an issue.

I can't see why either, I'm a bit off from ordering mine at the moment (ecu programming to get engine started is main priority) but will check when ready. Lots of post on you tube and looks to be a simple installation if space can be found for the tank.
Tank:
W. 6.5in 16.51cm
L. 19.5in 49.53cm
H. 6.5in 16.51cm
The only space I have left is below fuse panel passengers side (right hand drive) will have to measure to see if it will fit or maybe a smaller tank, standard tank is good for 2 lifts before compressor starts on single axle fitment.

Ive been speaking with the folks at Ram pro lift (website above) all week. They are friendly and helpful and it looks like a quality kit. but its $1868 and this airlift kit is a bit less. The one thing I question about the airlift kit is where to install the air bottle? I've already built a foam model of the hydraulic pump for the Ram kit and it will fit in the nose below the master cylinders without much issue. I think if I can settle that one issue that the airlift kit has the advantage of not needing new springs which is $200 in its self, plus the part that goes on the spring of the air kit will be lighter meaning less unsprung weight. So far I have seen the exact dimensions of the tank but in the pics it looks to be fairly large. Any thoughts? Lee

XRTIM: Thanks for posting the size of the tank that will allow me to make a foam model and evaluating the best place possible to mount it. Lee
Jamie at Stance USA provided them for me a couple of years ago when I first inquired about the system. Sounds like I may be making another tank or maybe there is compressor that can lift without the tank in a reasonable time frame. I will have a look tomorrow when I'm down the garage to see if my proposed mounting point is large enough to house the standard tankTim
Just had a quick measure and there's no way I have space for the tank under the fuse panel, The other place big enough is the luggage compartment or maybe behind the seat or passengers footrest. I don't really fancy building a tank to fit in the space so looks like I will be going for a bigger pump and run straight off that (will have to do some research)

Perhaps Stance have already done that research in the 2 years since you contacted them. The company they get their pumps from does a huge range of pump sizes.Steve
