RE: BMW 1 Series M Coupe: PH Used Buying Guide

I just got one and what I’ve found is that below 7 10ths it is just shocking. Loud, stiff, irritating thing. But get it to a decent road and it’s so much fun! The handling isn’t as intimidating as I expected, the engine makes sense above 3500 rpm and the brakes are incredible. It’s not a car you’d like on a test drive but you need to bond with it.
If you haven’t driven one, please don’t say it’s a posh 135i.

I think that the excitement of a twin turbocharged car with a relatively short wheelbase is tough to beat. Just a stage 1 remap completely wakes up the engine and transforms the car. The 1M chassis can easily cope with the additional power. I became bored of my E46 M3 after 6 months but I'm still excited when I sit behind the wheel of my 135i 2 years later, now it has 450 bhp and most of the M3 suspension parts.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
