Yup, if there's no Lotus Carlton there on the day, we want our money back wink

Hi,

Looking at the entry list, I think we may swap cars. Not sure a 1972 Trident will stand a chance in this company.

Looks like there aren’t any plans for a grand black tie dinner with trophy presentations, but we’ve booked to stay so hopefully a few others will also be around for celebration food/drink

Looking forward to it!

Mike (and Steve, who’s just off to south of France for 2 weeks)

I hope you don’t swap cars, i’d love to see your Trident. Does it have the Triumph engine?

Trident is Steve’s and yes it has the 2.5 Triumph engine.

He is concerned he might be shown up by the more modern, high performance cars on the list.

Mine’s just a Audi TTS

Please bring the Trident. I can only speak for myself and will say that despite being a "driving God" I have a very poor sense of direction and anticipate getting lost. Regularly.

We're in a '72 vehicle as well, so we certainly won't be showing him up biggrin

Oh my. What weather is required for the Mexico and I'll book it? cloud9 I doubt there's any other driving tour in the country where you'll see such an eclectic mix of cars!

Just been looking at the regulations and it says that we must produce a membership card. I'm assuming this will be sent to us before the day?

Just booked the hotel for the Friday night. They only have a few rooms left apparently. Just in case anyone's holding on booking.

Hi Luke - the membership card will be given out on the day during sign on at the Holiday Inn.

Cheers!

So I only stumbled a cross this thread today - but as described before the Holiday Inn is fully booked - there are places at the Muthu Belstead Brook Hotel and if you go direct to their site you get a 20% discount - £61. Has a pool, bar, restaurant etc - job done.

If anyone is interested, I've created a short road-book which my navigator and I are going to practice with this weekend. It's by no means 'regulation Tulip', but good enough to get the hang of using the app I hope and generally get a feel for it before Saturday week. The route is 18 miles and runs between Ruislip (NW London) and Beaconsfield (Bucks).

Example page below - one of three. Happy to share with anyone in the area who wants to do the same. PM me if you would like a scanned copy.

That’s excellent, I’ll have a copy please… your account isn’t accepting emails though.

Also, if anyone fancies meeting up at Beaconsfield Services for the drive to Ipswich, we’ll be leaving around 7:15am, plodding along the M40, M25 and A12 at 65mph and stopping en-route for a coffee and a loo break.
