You could put whatever engine you like in, but 245bhp would mean it was a pretty slow Ultima!

Terribly inaccurate half hearted article!

I’m on my second build.

IMHO there is nothing really in the same league at this price point. No abs, no power steering, no traction control with a glorious v8 behind you in a SVAed race car - that laps the top gear circuit in 1m10.

Most are manual - my was and is straight cut with no synros for that clutchless up shift.

The sensory overload on a uk public road is unbelievable, the reward on track, when you get it right, puts a massive smile on you face. A genuine laugh out loud car!

I suggest that anyone interested in buying (or even building) an Ultima, contacts the factory for an absolute wealth of info.

Here is my old one hitting 203.5 mph at vmax quicksilver 2014 https://youtu.be/6kE4_aQHO7U

I have a gtr since 2011. 90% use in track.

the article is very inaccurate and does not provide correct info.

as many have written here, if the gtr is built well is a pleasure, on the contrary it becomes a nightmare and even dangerous.

with 50k you have a 360 ° gtr base, which can be used to go around the neighborhood .......

if you want a track, reliable and performance weapon you have to spend no less than 100k.

before buying it you MUST try it: today there is no comparable car, not even a lotus, even if it is the most similar one.

it is very physical and requires a lot of effort and commitment and talent if you want to go really strong in the track.

I have many other supercars (ferrari, lambo, maserati, porsche, etc.), which I also use on the track, but nothing is comparable.

many miles on the road requires sacrifice and dedication and especially tolerance ...... comfort close to zero: noisy, rigid, without controls of any kind or assistance, the steering wheel, for example, must be held tightly in your hands because you can escape to every moment in a straight line, the right pedal must be dosed....., if it is raining it is a drama, etc.

But today, I would not change it with anything.smile

you are the only master of your car when you drive it.!

I can understand the pilots of the past when they were driving a real race car.

I would say that the gtr is a racing car 70/80 years with the plate ....

every gtr is different from the other and finding the right one is not easy unless you build it yourself by your needs, but you have to be very comptent and safe.
good luck!
