Originally plugged car details into WBAC at the end of July to get an indication of what the car may be valued at for a quick sale. Since then I have had a number of emails from WBAC suggesting I 'click' for a revised offer.

Just had offer number four confused - essentially a revised offer every two weeks and the offer has now increased by over £800 from the original.nuts To give context this is on a 2013 Mini Cooper D.

I'm wondering at what point they will stop! rotate

The intial offer goes up but the money they try to take off when they inspect the car will keep track of it. Net result same offer.

Or maybe I'm just a pessimist.

Mind you last time I tried to sell a car to them we had an argument over whether the wheels were alloy, or steel with wheel covers. Despite me showing the covers visibly flexed when I pulled them they couldn't be convinced that £20 for a set of new wheel covers was more sensible than £500 odd quid for replacement alloys. I kept the car.

I'd guess that when trying to sell his car to WBAC they were deducting £500 on quoted value due to the "alloys needing replaced", where he advised them that they were hubcaps and they could instead just spend £20 replacing the hubcaps and therefore they didn't need to reduce their offer by £500.

Yes, sounds like that. i'd have thought it easier to pop new ones on yourself so it's not an issue but PH is full of people prepared to get one over on the trade for the sake of.

Yep much more eloquently put. smile

I'd already declared the damaged wheel trims on-line and the reduction had already been made on the offer price anyway. This seemed to be a fact that they couldn't compute either.

Id still take it to them but would put no confidence in the on-lien price offered. Go with a minimum in mind and if they don't offer it be prepared to walk away.

To be fair I've sold a few cars to WBAC priced in the £10k to £15k range and they've always been very near to what they offered. It depends on whether you look after the car in my experience.

No concerns over the value. The car is as described and no damage / full history. I'm just surprised at the number of times WBAC has revised the offer over the last few weeks with no further contact from my side.

Also got a price from Evans Halshaw yesterday after posting this and their price is higher again! I have agreed to sell the car privately and now think I may have priced too low cry

Another vote here. They offered more than most dealers were prepared to PX for as well as beating WBAC by a solid 1500 quid.

Never had a problem with WBAC.

Every time I have used them, I have come away with a lot more than they were offering.

Eh? More than the on-line offer?

.... or do you mean you sold elsewhere after receiving their offer first?

Didn't sound like that at all. Where was he trying to get one over them?

Would you take a £500 loss over a £20 one?

I've had to re-read so many of the above posts because they make no sense without more details, context or proper structure really...............

Funny this thread should come up as I've just had the second increased offer on my car from WBAC, up to £11k now. Never tried Evans Halshaw so just had a go and got valuation back - £9280. Swings and roundabouts I guess.

When I sold my A4 they offered 17k against WBAC 15.5k

Tootle is good but you need something that a few dealers will be bidding each other up.
