Spitfire the plane that saved the world
Discussion
Just was giving a heads up for the show ,not going into micromanagement of the title ,or the plane , for me the whole package was excellent great scenic shots iconic landmarks ,with the last of the few stories was something special ,also watching in hd with cinema sound was epic also makes the flying in a spitfire next year is the icing on the cake .

My original question was "What channel was it on?".
It would be nice to know.
It's not on TV. It's available to download or rent via the usual streaming services including Youtube, Google Play or the Microsoft StoreIt would be nice to know.

Thanks. The OP didn't make it clear what platform he saw the programme on. I assumed it was on TV. It's obviously the film on the Spitfire that I saw being promoted through You Tube recently. I doubt I would learn anything new on the Spitfire (I already have about four DVD documentaries on the aircraft and at least a dozen books not to mention countless magazine articles) but the filmography looks stunning in the trailer and it is probably worth watching for that alone.DVDs or BluRays can be purchased via Amazon or your favourite alternative outlet.

One very good documentary on the plane is this one which was made by the BBC back in 1976 and narrated by the ubiquitous Raymond Baxter. Back then, a number of people important to the development of the aircraft and the engines that powered it were still alive and are interviewed in the film - as were some of the people who flew it, such as Douglas Bader. Of course Baxter himself was a Spitfire pilot.

Isn't it a bit strange how it's on sale on Amazon US, but not in the UK?DVDs or BluRays can be purchased via Amazon or your favourite alternative outlet.

I think it's a bit odd they've made it so difficult to see, but then i'm just showing my age I suppose...
