They may do sales for outside of the UK?

The T is my favourite in the range at the moment and love the slightly lowered look with spacers!
It would be a brave man to invalidate the warranty though on a new £100k car.

Its a really tempting complete package though. driving

As an armchair expert you are clearly missing the point of the car. rolleyes

Try driving one even better owning one then report back.

I think WCZ is just stating pure fact. Its a gimmicky car (albeit a very nice one). Buy one for the nice styling tweeks, not because its head and shoulders over a base model 911.

Its even less of a special than the 987.2 Cayman R was in comparison to the s..

Throw these mods on an out of warranty base carrera and it makes sense. Improves the look no end.

But it is head and shoulders above a standard Carrera and an S and also different to a GTS.. I’ve had all 3....... Get down to your local OPC ask him for a days test drive and drive some proper roads... you will then understand...

Not sure I follow that? Are you saying a t is better than an s and a gts?
Better than a 4s??

Take one for a drive and form your own opinion.... it’s all subjective around what you need the car for ..both the S and GTS are superbly capable, both very very fast cars, but it’s not all about speed..the T has bags of character...more theatre and thus more fun.....

Impressive or BS? Works out at a 31% increase.

Guess it's impressive then.
Am guessing the engine is pegged back in the software to prevent it encroaching on the 911 Turbos patch in the market.
Indeed, the pegging back is a product placement/marketing direction. There's other models the T cannot encroach upon. And don't forget Porsche themselves will launch a 'new' T version with pretty much the above anyhow.
It's all in the product cycle.

This!
While the Carrera T is a great car, the only benefit lies in optional RWS and PCCB on a standard C2.
All the other mods like lighter glas and less insulation is purely academic and the only benefit is some bragging rights with you friends.

So as you say, take a manual, vanilla C2 with the 3.0T engine that is out of warranty and apply the mods!

That sounds like a very nice simple solution and probably 1 days work to turn it into a weapon !

seems a lot but which ever way its a no from me as i've no intention of invalidating the warranty on a car worth this much.

I'd be interested in the geo/undercarriage work on a standard Carrera if they offer that as a package. Might be worth a call.

Spoken purely as a 911 armchair fan rather than prospective owner, not sure why there is so much negative comment here. Seems they've taken a very sweet car and made it even sweeter and a fair bit quicker.

I think it's because the ethos of the Carrera T is to be a fun drivers car with relatively low power.
Thats why they took the Carrera 2 and not the Carrera 2S as a base car and then you could add some driver relevant options reserved for the "S" model on top of it (rear wheel steering and ceramic brakes). Adding more power to it somehow defies the purpose of this car.

For some people there can be too much power for a road car. Open the throttle for more than 2 sec and you're up to silly speeds. I kind of agree with this, as I'm more than happy with my 325hp 997 C2 and it really is plenty fast enough for road driving.

IMHO do whatever you want with your car and it sure seems to be a fabulous car!
All modifications should also be possible to apply on the regular C2, which imo is the "better" starting point than the Carrera T.

Pretty absurd statement from someone saying to have had all 4 cars!

Your cars must have been of varying specs, because the only real difference with a Carrera T over a Carrera is that you can spec stuff from 'better' 911s that you can't on a Carrera.

If you think removing the rear seats and a bit of sound proofing makes it 'head and shoulders' better then good for you, but i'm not buying it!

You forgot about the all important lightweight rear screen and rear side windows! teacher

That is unless you went for the no cost option of having heavy normal glass hehe
