You don't think they'll actually get used do you...?
Why would they not be used? I see plenty of Singers and Rufs being used.
Guy from Singer on Jay Leno's youtube channel this week-said their highest mileage to date is 8k miles.

Well most of them are only a few years old. What counts as being used 1-2k a year?

Looks sweet. I'm sure they won't be installing the actual period engine and spec. Most likely things like cams, ECU and turbos will all be modern tech and well sorted.

I think it'll be absolutely hilarious. I'd love to know how the weight is compared to the two main versions of the flat-six 930 engine

But what's all this "330hp" original 930 nonsense?
The original 1975 930 Turbo was a 260 hp 3.0. The later intercooled 1978 3.3 Turbo was 300 hp. Only a tiny handful of very late production cars came with the optional, and extremely expensive, 330 hp setup.

Absolutely but as another poster said running modern turbos and engine management with tc like m880 should be far more tractable and fun.
Wouldn't that make it a bit boring and pointless? The engine itself is a box with some cylinders in it. You could make it drive like a Vauxhall Astra if you were so inclined.

I'm not sure 800+ bhp in an old school 911 will ever be boring. Or pointless! The power delivery of an old school Turbo F1 engine though, would be really unpleasant to drive at anything other than 9/10ths+ and who has the talent, or roads, for that?

So apparently they will be using all old race engines. Each car will come with detailed race history from McLaren.

That Fernando Alonso fellow would probably appreciate McLaren popping one of these V6 turbo engines in the back of his weekend car. Probably more powerful and reliable than his current "power unit".

There's a Grey/Orange one that lives in one of the villages just north of Gatwick. I followed it after it pulled out the owners drive back in the summer. I don't know why but I was far more impressed with the ones that I have seen at various events. I understand they are undoubtedly all the same but this one on the road looked a little tatty.

Odd.

Bloke a couple of houses from here's got a couple of Singers.

One of 'em is very similar to this:

The other's a saloon - but that's more than a bit ruf.

Are you sure it was actually Singer's work? There are quite a few lookalikes these days, and none of them look quite right.
