the 992 arse is so big even a wing looks tiny

Porsche need to slim down their 911 back to something less obscene that can be threaded down a B road.

It seems Porsche have forgotten about the proper driver in search of bigger stats rather than fun.

You know that is not right just by looking at it. It looks like a Chiron butt banged it

When is a GT3 not a GT3 - when it has a turbo engine.

Problem for Porsche is that every new car has to be more powerful and faster than the previous version. Ability to extract more from the NA engine probably limited so turbo seems obvious solution. However, the last GT3 was many times too powerful to be able to use anything but a fraction of the power on the road and even on track if you want pure speed there are faster alternatives. Still I am sure they will sell everyone they make - which is not surprising as the demand outstrips supply (strangely I think a lot of the demand is driven by the expectation of making money on resale...which sort of becomes a self-fullfilling prophecy).
yes

A turbocharged GT3 is a GT2, so if you turbocharge the GT3 what do you do with the GT2 model? And what do you then do to fill the inevitable huge gap between the Carrera and GT3 Turbo?

Also, isn't the GT3 road car supposed to reflect the GT3/GTE racing car, which is currently still NA?
I suspect in that scenario the GT2 would then get hybrid stuff in addition to boost power to 800-900 while the GT3 will make do with 600-650

They wouldn't release a car like that don't worry. Mind you look what McLaren did with the Senna. fk. No doubt it'll be cracking and popping away down Knightsbridge at 4mph being followed by an army of bloggers and car spotters.

I'm getting old.... each release after the 997 does less and less for me. Same with every manufacturer really.

Who cares what it looks like, sounds like, drives like, smells like, blah blah blah

Just think how much you'll make by flipping one.

Judging by the number of hardly used 991 GT3's for sale, that's what really matters isn't it?

I thought it looked all but identical - ie, too big and largely unattractive.

Apart from the standard carrera I don't think Porsche make a single thing of interest right now. The GT3 takes up the same amount of space as an XC60 for goodness sake. The plot has been entirely lost.

The standard Carrera is the same width mirror to mirror as the GT3. rolleyes

I don't understand why porsche make those in limited numbers. It may be the last NA version of the 911, why not not listen to the enthusiasts at once and sell as many as they can as a sort of a gift or a thank you?

Great, another GT3 Porsche won't sell me. I had a 997 GT3 and absolutely loved it but wasn't able to get into a 991 unless I was willing to pay overs. I wonder if I'll ever be able to walk into a Porsche dealership and order another GT3. I'm not interested in buying a load of other cars first to get favouritism so I suspect the answer is no.

fkwit response as I have owned a 996 GT3 and driven the 997.1, 991.1 and 991.2 GT3s. Unless you mean nothing beats the voice of the driving seat experience?

GT3's tug at the heartstrings like no other car for me. Lucky enough to have owned one and driven a few other different versions over the years.

This doesn't do anything for me I have to say. I know it's a mule but the fact that GT3's of old were lowered, narrow bodied Carrera's with a well thought out wing design and a small front splitter really appealed. If you knew, you knew.

This thing looks far too shouty to me and it's just getting bigger and bigger. Faster sure, but I've never felt short changed when driving GT3's thinking I wish it was faster.

Please Porsche do the right thing and bring out a true stripped out lightweight manual for the drivers. Make it about £30-£35K + options. Hell I don't even mind winding my own windows up. You can do this.

Looking on PH classifieds seems to be around £50k for a new, base model. Over £70k for a GTS

Who gives a toss apart from the crushingly dull arses who clamour to sip from the teet of Mother Porsche’s latest?
