Paint protection.

Does everyone with a super car do it?
Does it work?
How much does it cost?

Similarly "detailing."
How is that different from giving your P&J some love with a selection of potions from Halfords?

Cheers
Does everyone with a super car do it? - Can't answer as don't have a supercar...
Does it work? - From others I have heard is a great protection from road rash.
How much does it cost? Topaz quoted me £4k for entire car on a 993...

How is that different from giving your P&J some love with a selection of potions from Halfords? - This to me is worth having done. Just had my 993 detailed inside and out. The paint has no marks and is like liquid/mirror finish. As someone else has said it makes cleaning so,so,so much easier. I no longer have horrid swirl marks and it really shows the great depth and colour contrast to my midnight blue car. The interior almost now look's like new. Seats are now matt as opposed to shiny and all interior plastics also matt. You can see my car on Elite Detailing (maidenhead) Instagram thread, biggest improvement is my tired interior.

PPF has a whiff of "keeping your partner chaste for the next guy" though, in my humble, naive and simplistic opinion.
Odd thought. If you'd said "only doing a couple hundred miles a year to keep the mileage down", i'd be with you. PPF just saves me a front-end respray every 2 years for stone chips.
I guess so. To be honest I haven't seen what the top end PPFs are like nowadays, my experience has been seeing ones that have made the front end look pretty dull or at least visibly less glossy than the rest of the car.

The top-end stuff is now very good, but still imperfect in some lights / from some angles.

But it costs accordingly...and unless you've got real exotica or extra-special paint bumping the price up, probably costs as much as a good front-end respray.

Pay your money / take your choice...

Is it me or are there some seriously dodgy colour combo's in them photos?!?

1. Teal Aventador with an Orange Interior?
2. The blue Koenisegg - dreadful colour choice
3. THAT AVENTADOR with the wrap
4. White La Ferrari - probably the worst colour I've seen one in
5. British racing green Koenisegg with red striping - really?

I know it's personal preference but my god some of them (achingly beautiful) cars look pretty crap to my eyes frown
It's you. I like the colour choices.

Front end of my car is done. You can machine polish and coat the current PPFs with the same products as the paint, so honestly you can't see the difference. 20,000 miles and not a single stone chip on the front, so it's well worth it IMO. I'd struggle not to get every car I have from no on detailed and PPFd. At about £1k for a full front and wings, it's a no brainer on any decent performance car worth £30k or more.
