Not read the whole thread but wtf? The actor and radio show host didn't work, so let's try an ex-comedian (burn) and an ex-cricketer! Evans and then LeBlanc were always the weakest link in the reboot (Harris and Reid actually OK). The traditional TG fomat never worked without Clarkson/Hammond/May anyway, just kill it or relaunch it as a normal 5th Gear-style car show with some normal "non-celebrity" presenters.

ETA: if the comedian and cricketer don't work and they want to try out an engineer and a teacher, me and my mate Dan are available. wink

Perhaps it's simply a homage to McGuinness Flint(off), that iconic 70's band

No. Couldn't really give two hoots about bikes or F1.

Ridiculous choices by the BBC. Do either of them really know anything about cars, from an enthusiast's point of view? Might as well kill off TG. Grand Tour is much better now anyway....even before these two clowns take over!

For the most part, GM isn't especially interested in Bikes - it's just the sport he chose to do.

He's just as interested in trucks, cars and anything else with mechanical moving parts.

Is that a Primart advert ?

The BBC do not understand that it is not a "job". Not a clue between what is a lifetime of petrolheaddary and "having nice cars cuz I made some dosh"

My 14 month old son goes to nursery on the same complex as they film TG. My wife said he got very excited yesterday when they passed a low loader with a few exotica travelling onto the runway....

I went a picked him up recently and they were screaming cars up and down the runway with camera cars etc..

The problem seems to be that, on paper, TG should not have been the raging success it became in the first place.
With just the format left behind, it becomes a car show with jokes and pranks. Whatever it was that transcended that format has gone.

I presume they still make money out of it. If they don't they should drop it like a stone.

As soon as they stop making money out of it they will indeed drop it, as is usually the case. They aren't required to keep making it, but currently it no doubt helps prop up several other more niche shows that can't be sold across the world.

A lucky escape for anyone other than a driving god like Harris.

Maybe the lovely Alpine that Harris rather mysteriously turned into a fireball has taken revenge from beyond the grave.

It seems like he made the amateur driver’s error of going into a corner in Wales and not expecting to find something momentously fking moronic being done in the middle of the road.

As much as I think Guy is brilliant Top Gear isnt right for him - Took much time required. Can you imagine when he isnt in the 3rd episode because some truck needed an MOT so he did turn up to the studio!

Doubt he's bought the house and toys from his truck work.
