Not bad in a straight line, fantastic feeling of build quality, lots of space, lovely place to be, dull as ditchwater to drive, entices you to bully other people on the motorway, tells everyone you're a Tory fktard, makes all the other tw@ts at the golf club envious. Perfect for Pistonheads, sadly.
I thought I'd pretty much nailed it re the Beemer.. I had one, it was exactly like I described above, it turned me into a BMW driver, much to my regret (I didn't vote Tory or join the golf club, obviously). So I binned it and bought something a bit more engaging.

If you don't get what I'm saying, it's probably because you're a BMW driver busy tailgating some poor bugger on the motorway.

I also thought I'd nailed it re Pistonheads, but as I'm still here, I guess that's undermined my point...smile
You thought wrong. It also doesn't help you you come across as a monumental bellend.

I had the F11 535D with all the toys - rear wheel steer and full adaptive drive = Dull, dull 'dull . I suspect a large part of that impression was due to the active antiroll bars; I think they killed the driving experience for me. In the spec I had, Inferior to the E61 535D in almost every way.

Perhaps a passive spec one would be better? If that is the case, then great!

I thought it made the car feel like it had air suspension absolute comfort.

I've got a 2013 535d touring as my do everything family car. It's great for what I bought it for, it's a heavy old beast, it's not going to be a great handler. For lugging the family around, loading up with crap and going on long journeys it's ideal.

Asfor the pro nav discussion, it was a must have for me when buying, I'm sure the business nav is just as good for actual navigation but the small screen just looked odd to me.

In the 18 months I've had mine it has averaged 38mpg with a mix of everything. Can easily get late 40's without trying hard if avoiding towns. Winter tyres make a bit of a difference to the mpg, so that's probably lowered the average a little.

My $0.02.

Had an F10 530d SE with crap version sat nav but 18" wheels. Took it to 105k miles. Faultless, only changed because I got offered an excellent ex-demo deal on my current F10 530d M-Sport+.

Better Nav, Nicer interface with all the tech, rode badly on 19's but ditched the run-flats so it's as comfy now as the SE was.
Passive suspension, HK stereo and Dakota Leather. As perfect for my needs as I can imagine, given most of my 'essential' driving is on the A303.

As my commute is now 200 miles round trip twice a week it is staying until it breaks.

I saw this Spotted and it made me happy. I think it helped me decide to stick with what I have. I had an e61 535d and it was brilliant. Looked at E61 M5s, but I just could bring myself to a constant worry of the red cog of death. I ended up lucking out on an absolute unicorn of an f11 535d m LCI. List of £75k, and better specc’d than any F10/F11 I have ever seen - HUD, digital dash, pano, adaptive cruise, LED headlights..... etc etc....but I still have that ‘lunatic petrol estate’ itch, so was looking at RS6s... but I can’t bring myself to downgrade on some of the comforts I now have (I never knew I ‘needed’ a heated steering wheel and B&O stereo to play nursery rhymes, but there is no way I am downgrading by paying near on £70k for a similar spec RS6). Everything about my F11 is perfect - just dont know how I can get anything as capable now. Conclusion: it’s not an RS6, but bloody hell, it’s quick and is an absolute luxury bargain if you get a non-lease one!

Whereas I can’t wait to get rid of my f11 535i, despite it having HUD, Self Parking, Adaptive Headlights, Digital Dash, B&O, Pro Nav etc.

It’s just a bit....... meh.....

Yes, I suppose I am a little bit ‘fan-boy’ there - yes, it’s no RS6, but you’ve got a really sale-able spec there that would go in an instant. Maybe it’s the 60% extra torque of the diesel that really just suits the F11. It’s stupid rapid.

What expectations did you have?
