13.3mpg for the 599. Let's take the journey from the beginning of the article and assume it starts & ends in Birmingham. That's a round trip of around 2,200 miles before taking into account the track day, so the petrol bill could end up going into four figures.

Still, what a way to burn money... in a detuned Enzo engine. Sounds good to me.

So if you can afford to spend £100K on a car you can actually afford to spend £200K? What absolute rot! Who writes this cr4p?

Agreed. Have a couple of friends, and a father, who have spent £100k or thereabouts on a car. There's a big difference between than, and spending double!

Just thinking about this, wouldn't a better comparison be a 2013 12C? Bit over 600hp and for the money you can get a low mileage 5 year old example. Head the article, 'Is it really worth suffering the depreciation'. I bet to mortals the driving experience probably isn't that different, and both have challenging looks (12C bland, 720S a bit odd)....
Good point. Heres a nice one: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

And if you fancy having the close same power as the 720 in a 12C, then that is easily taken care of. Plenty customers in the US seem to be doing these or similar:

Combine it with a nice exhaust and away you go.
