Its a travesty that cars like the Evora get ignored by car people yet they happily buy ordinary machines like M cars, RS cars, 63 cars or SUVs.

An M4, RS6, C63 is like a Fiesta in the real world. Not special at all except to council folks.

Could be worse. it could be a flat six engine that eats itself and which the manufacturer refuses to acknowledge
Meanwhile:

"Aston Martin is recalling around 5,500 vehicles in the United States due to problems with powertrains and battery cables. Issues include failure of the parking pawl to engage so if the vehicle is parked on a slope it may run away and crash. In addition, battery cables in DB9 and DBS vehicles pose an increased risk of fire."

"Aston Martin is recalling 3,973 DB11s in order to fix a potential issue with their steering column that could cause unintended firing of the airbag."

"V8 Vantage - a connector in the hydraulic system for the 7-speed Auto-Shift Manual (ASM) transmission may not have sufficient support. The connector is between the pipe for the clutch fluid and the ASM system. It is possible that this connector can fail and cause loss of the clutch fluid. Malfunction of the clutch system could cause a vehicle crash."

Like I said, it could be worse. You could be stuck with a manufacturer that doesn't accept liability for identified problems and leaves the customer to pick up the bill on something fundamental.

I'm sure Lotus will get the handful of cars affected repaired very quickly.

What are we thinking, 10 at most?
I know you pipe up to bash every Lotus related thread. But you do drive an Audi.... wink
I'm a fan of Lotus cars, but despair at the way the company is run.

The heritage and engineering expertise should see Lotus as the British Porsche, with a wide range of cars supporting the specialist hard core sports cars we all love. Instead, it's a trickle of 'special editions' based on what is now a very old model range.

No investment, no vision. It's tragic to watch.

Have you been keeping up to date with recent news involving Geely?

biggrin I whole-heatedly agree. Chocolate engines and a manufacturer who just couldn't give a fk, and for anyone wondering I speak from experience.

And I now have an Evora, which in comparison, is absolutely awesome.

Unfortunately the reputation of Toyota V6 cars is fading as Hethel continues to press on with excessive levels of boost just to try to keep the handful of cars they sell competitive in the market-place,

"Quite a few people have experienced the issues Lotus are having getting the clutch to level with the power / torque levels coming from the V6 engine. Lotus move on and release higher performance engine tunes. Increasing power is one thing, being able to transfer all that torque to the road is another. We are still seeing a lot of premature clutch failures."
