I must be the only person who thinks the looks have gone backwards, distorted proportions, terrible rear lights, overly fussy design... sadly somethings just not right
You're not, I think it looks a bit odd now. The grill proportions aren't right and there is something just not quite "right" about the design overall.

The word "elegant" appears very early in this piece, but it's not a word I would associate with Bentley to be honest.
Me too. I'm not normally one who needs to get use to replacement models, if I like the old one, I usually like the new one, but agree that the grill just looks wrong, rear lights too, just not so much as the grill. Rest of the car is lurvley. Even that red leather everywhere looks great.
Rear lights aren’t very elegant, but still a whole lot better than the predecessor’s ones

Damn, the previous generation was very porcine looking...new one looks a lot better, but the front grill is poorly resolved.

Does anyone think they look remotely similar as cars? rofl

I can't imagine anyone confusing the rear of the new CGT with a Mazda MX6!
Well no obviously these cars don't look remotely similar! The MX6 is sleek and clean, the GTC has a bulky, muscular shape. I like it though some of the details are overly fussy for me, but that's the way modern car design is rightly or wrongly. Anyhow, the original comment was that the oval shape rear light clusters are a kind of similar shape to those on the MX6...

Nothing like an MX6 ... all Bentley have done is get some Hillman Minx rear lights and turn them through 90 degrees .....

If you look closely, like on the Bentley, the wheels are also round!

What are these "modals" people keep referring to? Are they what used to be called a "model"?

Judging by his language, I assumed he wasn't a native English speaker.

That does look good, I imagine its absolutely huge though. Who drives these ? Genuine question by the way.
We had the previous Supersports with the W12 motor and carbon brakes. Nice car, amazing noise, especially when started inside the garage. Lovely way to travel and always got really good comments from passers-by, but somehow not particularly special to drive.

I seem to be in the minority here but having seen the new car in the flesh a couple of times, I think it looks much better than the old car.

It has more sports car like proportions now, appearing lower, wider and more lithe whilst being unmistakably an Conti GT.

Agreed, I really like it having never lusted after any other recent Bentley

Very weird! I thought I was commenting on the new Aston thread. Still, if I could only choose between the new Bentley and the new Bentley I wouldn't be too upset. smile
