Honda Accord 2.0 Executive
Discussion
I've been without a car since mid September after my E60 M5 engine failed. I won't bore you with the details but I am having to get a second hand rebuilt engine.
So without further adieu, here it is.
It a a 2003 2.0 I-VTEC Executive with just under 38k miles on the clock. It came into my father in law's work as a trade in and he jumped on it. I've paid towards it but he is paying most of the car and loaning it to me and then we will sell it when I get my M5 back.

Really really like these; possibly one of the best manual gearshifts ever. Nice colour, too!
Cheers. It does clean up well. Everything seems to work as well, apart from Cruise Control. It needs an ABS sensor but there seems to be two type and I aren't sure which to get. The gear change is nice, very positive.steve-5snwi said:

Looks fantastic. Always liked those wheels.
They do seem to suit it.Morry10 said:
Great cars, ran a 2.4 exec tourer for the last 3 1/2 yrs - it has been excellent.
Liking the exterior/interior colour combo
I think I would have preferred black, but I am boring like that tbh. Just feels a little "old man" to me. The 2.0 will be fine for me for what I want. The 2.4 would have been nice but higher tax and fuel consumption.Liking the exterior/interior colour combo

That's quite brilliant. I'll be using that.helix402 said:
Good choice.
The opposite of the M5 in many ways.
It works. Can't get much more opposite than that I've always liked the Accord to tbh, quite fancied a Type R at one point. The opposite of the M5 in many ways.
Can't believe the mileage is so low on that! If you were keeping it, it should run forever - My 2.4 Type-S is currently nudging 270,000 miles!
Might be worth having a quick look at the rear calipers, they can be a bit sticky - Probably even more-so if it hasn't been driven much.
Mine also had an appetite for ABS sensors, and even though they were replace you might still get the VSA light + /!\ staying on if you don't have a proper Honda HDS system to reset - You can clear by jumping a few pins on the OBD port (Google VSA neutral position memorization procedure)

Yeah I was surprised as well. Previous MOT's seem to back it up as well.Might be worth having a quick look at the rear calipers, they can be a bit sticky - Probably even more-so if it hasn't been driven much.

Thanks for the heads up re the ABS, I'll look at that. Do you know which sensor I need? The stubby one or the long one?

I'm not 100% sure, but think it may be the longer one for the 7th Gen - This may help http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/356-diy-abs-se...Thanks for the heads up re the ABS, I'll look at that. Do you know which sensor I need? The stubby one or the long one?
I do know they're a pain in the arse to remove though! Think the guys at the garage had to drill mine out.
Looks great! We've had the estate version for dog/camping duties for for a good few years now and it's been faultless.
Ours is also the 2.0 exec but in maroon with cream leather and fake wood - OAP chic at it's finest.
The engine and gearbox are good - revs sweetly to 7k and actually pulls pretty well if you keep the revs up. Think ours does about 35 mpg but did once manage a true 45 mpg on a long gentle overnight run down from Scotland to Dover!
Ride and handling are surprisingly good - ours is on 16 inch wheels but the chassis is much more resolved than the 2014 e class I also drive.
