I suspect CG have bought/retained the Haymarket/PistonHeads staffers that were directly involved with PistonHeads.

So same faces but no longer working under the Haymarket group.
god help us then

Why? Half the battle for the past few years is that Haymarket committed next to zero investment into PistonHeads, the staff seemed to be doing their best despite having limited budget/hours to work on PistonHeads.

If CG intend to increase spending on PistonHeads dramatically why would we want all new staff - that'll be a nightmare as they won't 'get' these forums IMO.

But they have been given a load of cash to fix stuff? Weren't a lot of problems before due to funds?

Obv all the dodgy advertising was an abortion of biblical proportions but I’d rather they were in charge still than some entirely new lot from CarGurus myself.

If CG are savvy, they'll Open Source the GS code, or at least grant dev privs to PHers who have the requisite skills. A lot of (ordinarily quite expensive) professional advice was rejected / ignored / pooh-poohed in the past. Accepting submissions for fixes from the PH community, suitably reviewed before acceptance of course, could save them a lot of dosh.

Who ran it after Ted? There was Stuart then some other people then Jack Mansfield most recently.

Can anyone fill in the gaps?

I made a joke years ago asking who was actually in charge and got a stty email threatening to ban me. It wasn’t from Stuart or Jack Mansfield though.

Jack is particularly awesome (if he’s in charge) and so are our new silent overlords, who I welcome by the way.

Stuart was the boss man, but Paul Garlick was in charge, answering to Stuart.

Possibly, it wasn’t garlick or Stuart, I liked them.

Is he definitely gone? I don’t really want to say incase he appears like Lazarus and bans me.

I don't want to be the bearer of possibly bad news but somebody has posted a couple of pages ago saying that apparently he's on his way back.

He did seem to have a rather brusque style of posting on occasions.

I'll see you over on CTF hehe

Oh good grief! I swear I actually heard him explode once because someone said something he took wrongly, might have been me. Oh well I fancied a name change....
