In the same way that Aston don't build boats or hotels, I wonder if this is some company that has got AML approval to market a kit - which like some of the work performed by AMWS on restorations will be outsourced.
or, if we want to go all in on conspiracy theories:
It's a mule - underneath its really a RapidE with a fibreglass db6 body and associaed bits on it .... not)
Ah yes well. About that...or, if we want to go all in on conspiracy theories:

"Quintessence Yachts engineered the Aston Martin design into an innovative powerboat for the yachting world"
What's interesting is that 2 of the 3 company officers named have resigned according to companies house....

I wonder how many classic Astons there are in the UK (or the world for that matter) and how many miles the owners rack up combined on a yearly basis and what that contributes as a CO2 figure? Just seems a bit pointless. Isn't the point of a classic is that it is old school in the same way that steam locomotives haven't been converted to run on Hydrogen?
I can see a number of reasons why you'd want to do it:1: EV only zones and local emissions
2: Availability of petrol post 2030
3: Ease of maintenance
4: Reliability
5: The sheer hell of having something modern and old
Nobody complains about putting modern plumbing in an old building.

It’s disgraceful to ruin history like this.
Also, if anyone in their right mind thinks that manufacturing another Powertrain and shipping it all round the globe is more efficient than just using the one that’s in it should be shot in the head.
wkers.
First post hit nail in the head. Stupid idea. Also, if anyone in their right mind thinks that manufacturing another Powertrain and shipping it all round the globe is more efficient than just using the one that’s in it should be shot in the head.

would gladly buy and drive this EV as often as possible, taking great pleasure in seeing the vitriol of old gits just like you.
There's a devilish part of me that would take great joy in doing things like this if I had the money. Take on old DB5, stick a RB26DETT in it and stance it just to annoy the beards! Talksteer said:

Exactly. The appeal of the DB6 is its looks, not the engine. Jag have an EV frame that fits into the existing engine mounts. The old engine cam be refitted with not too much hassle. Edited by RayTay on Friday 7th December 11:36

Each to their own. To me the charm was the design of the car. What the designer created - a work of art. There is no art in an engine. Most non-petrol heads would view it that way. The power unit is incidental.Edited by RayTay on Friday 7th December 17:20

Well the DB6 chasis was built in a David brown tractor factory in huddersfield and assembled in Newport Pagnell. Bet you didnt know that!!as admitted by AM as follows:-

eh? You have noted this site is called Piston Heads... I would image, or at least hope a large percentage of the core members would indeed fine a lot of art in an engine.
