yes Even the engine layout is a different config from the A4 and Passat rolleyes never mind the front suspension eek

well i you drive one you will soon realize that is completely irrelevant (saying having owned a few 225 models and driven or owned Golfs of every configuration, even the 4wd 4motion Golf does not drive or feel like a TT and that is one of its closest cousins.

And it is not 90 percent Golf if you look at it, fair percentage is but most of what you see is different and the rest is configured differently, the 225 engine and 4wd wasnt available in anything else as far as I am aware.

Missing mine at this time of year as whoever specced my M135i was too tight to get heated seats (rest of the spec and price worked though) and I miss the ability to come off a roundabout in the wet and hoof it, not subtle, not delicate but very effective, and, to be honest in the BMW its mainly lurch/ESP/One tyre fire/TCS/Lurch/Flashy light/slew sideways if you dont have it set up in manual gears, sport plus and fancy playing, sometimes its just nice to just plant your foot and go.

Quite surprised to see it pip the Accord Type-R, because that is really well regarded handling wise by most magazines.
