There's a risk of pulling the trigger on one of these tomorrow - from what I can see, if the car drives well, there's not much that can be wrong with it - the interweb doesn't throw up much as the consensus is it's reliable and wears well. It has 75k miles which is nothing for a car like this.

Only odd things I can see from the spec is that while it has pretty much every extra going, it doesn't have heated seats (not a deal breaker, but odd) and it doesn't have front fogs but is this because it has the fancy Active Bending Xenons?

Is there anything else I need to worry about - wife likes it and that's been half the battle...

I own this actual car
https://www.evo.co.uk/volvo/xc60/14363/2013-volvo-...

And it’s bloody brilliant, the 5 pot sounds lovely, gearchange Is slick and it has taken everything thats been thrown at it and the only issue has been a piss poor fitted windscreen which caused a damp footwell!

Other than that no issues, Just make sure the cam belt has been done and the aux belt and tensioners, with OE quality parts,

Thanks, I wonder if you can still order the upgrade from a dealer for that price?

Anyways, we drove the other one, meh, creaked a lot and seemed surprisingly crashy over bumps, no better or possibly worse than my manky old X-Trail.

So we're looking at another and hopefully this will be better as it's being fully serviced and looked at, at a decent main dealer.

Polestar is available for around the £7-800 mark and sometimes there's special offers (usually like knocking £100 off or trialing it for 2 weeks for £25 of summat similar. Can be a good upgrade and it apparantly transforms the automatic gearbox (doesn't do too much to the manual version except increase the power (from 215bhp to 230bhp on the last generation of D5)

There are tuning chips available that are far cheaper but the Polestar one is authorised by Volvo themselves and won't affect the warranty.

I'm tempted to get it myself but it is a bit steep (but you do get a little blue badge scratchchin )

There are a few creaks on ours but it’s the dog guard, other than that it still pretty tight.

It can also be a bit crashy on some of the Dorset B roads but other than that it’s a good ride.

Polestar badges are available on eBay you know hehe

We have a Volvo xc60 2013 model which is a D4, I have driven a xc60 D5 lots of times and I think the D4 is better. It pulls very well indeed. We have had no problems with it. The Polestar remap is excellent, I have it on my V60 D5. wink

Thanks smile

No photos as the weather has been pants since yesterday, but it's as per the title, July registered, Maple Red with Cream interior, 77k on the clock, Auto, in good condition but has the odd scratch, nothing that diminishes the car though. I've ordered some decent leather cleaner and treatment to give that a good going over - it drives very well, pulls hard, quiet and comfy, no creaks or crashes even on bad roads.

Need to have a play with the menus to set up the preferences but all good for now.

Only weird new 'Volvo' things I can see are the light switch is just odd. Left & Right settings seem to be exactly the same whereas the middle setting just seems to be a sidelight battery flattener. Also, the way the car gets stuck in turning a circle at full lock and doesn't automatically self centre, but I've looked about and it seems like 'they all do that Sir'..., as per this thread - https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=68...

Other than that, it seems very solid and exactly what we wanted - hope the wife gets on with it as it's her choice and pretty much her first car smile

The light switch is a bit silly, the right hand position just means that full-beam will stay on if selected. We basically never move ours from the left setting (it still allows you to flash the full-beam)

We've got a 2010, just done 100,000 miles. Generally it has been pretty reliable but the last year or so has seen more electrical gremlins.

If you go to Volvo they can switch off the daytime running light function, which will then make the switch operate normally.
