Many thanks McLaren, outstanding job of saving me the bother to check if it's the start of another week.
Wake me up when the "track focused" version is released so I can scratch of another 7 days........
Wonder what the "ring" time is...................
Posts like yours are bizarre. Firstly, they're every bit as boring as they sound. Secondly, if you don't like what you see, why bother to click on the article? Thirdly....it's such a shame, isn't it, that McLaren are STILL churning out cars; I mean, wouldn't it be so much better if they just stopped rolleyes
The other odd thing I’ve noticed about this is that other than a few MSO options I can only think of the Senna GTR, 600LT, Speedtail and this 720 Spider that McLaren have released this year. That’s 50 weeks into the year with only 4 new models, making snotty comments about 1 a week just doesn’t make any sense.

worth remembering just how fast a stock 720s is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXgqn3zKB28&t=...

0-60mph 2.39
0-100mph 4.9
0-150mph 10.36

this is quicker 0.60 than the 1500bhp chirons official time

To think that at one time McLarens were so bland & unexciting to look at.
Clever roof adds a delightful element to the driving experience but fail to see the relevance of a 200+mph top speed apart from vanity & cocktail bar bragging rights.

Just out of curiosity, where do you draw the line with this? 199mph? 100mph? 70mph for a UK car?

There are no cocktail bars in Germany?

no good ones smile

the thing about the 200mph topspeed is - it in itself is maybe not that relevant/or at least not that often, but cars that get from say 140 to 180 quickly usually have a 200 topspeed - and 120/140 to 180 is something one does very frequently

Does the 720 engine sound as good as that looks?
Unfortunately not.

McLaren equals Dyson in the sound department.
Which one did you hear last
Probably not a 675LT, 600LT, Senna, 570S MSO Ti system or the sports exhaust on a 720 I'd wager

Fourthly, if you don't like what you read then scroll down. It's an opinion darling, forums are full of them, they're still churning them out, I mean, wouldn't it be so boring if they all agreed with you rolleyes

I am merely trying to engage in conversation with you so I can learn as to why you post this. I'm not disagreeing with you, if you find it boring, then I can't (and didn't) dispute that. I'm not asking why you find it boring, I'm asking why you bother to spend the time to post that.

I said I find your posts bizarre, not boring and that I should skip over it.

It's also worth noting that many of the "special editions" aren't really special editions, they're just customer ordered cars done by MSO, showing the sort of stuff MSO can do.

Trackdays, Runway runs, go to Europe to open her up!?!? All sorts of fun.. And she is nice looking and faster than a 488 Ferrari is it not?!

I’ve said I’d prefer the coupe over the spider but now I’m not sure. I’d take the 720s over any of the current Ferrari offerings and I’d never thought the day would come where I’d say that!

Coincidentally just as I was showing the spider images to someone in the car on a random street a sky blue P1 pulled up beside us!

yep, if you have good conditions and can get the power down then there's hardly any production cars which are quicker!

Those tyres though. Wider than standard, and you need earplugs to get to the strip without going insane. Must be outright dangerous in the wet. They render the car absolutely unusable for public driving.
