Ive got a spare day tomorrow and was thinking of heading to a war or air museum but not sure which. Choices are;
Newark air museum
Hendon raf museum
Imperial war museum London
Or any others you'd recommend? I'm in Cambs and happy to travel an hour our so. IWM Duxford I've been to so many times I could recount most of it in my sleep

Yes, I second Shuttleworth. I’m in a similar position to the OP in that I may have overdone Duxford over the years, so my first visit to the Shuttleworth Collection two years ago was a very refreshing change. And like Duxford, many aircraft are flown a few times each year.
I find Hendon to be a bit clinical and lifeless, but they do have some unique aircraft. Gets far too busy though.

The OP said an hour or so from Cambridge. Yeovil and Cosford are much, much further, Brooklands involves a journey over an hour and Dartford if you want to avoid the horrors of the M25 near Thiefrow in the morning.
OP, just go to the Shuttleworth Collection. It’s close enough, you can spend hours in there, and be back before the rush hour.

Its much smaller but I'd suggest the De Havilland museum for an hour or twos diversion.
I first ended up there almost by accident, and it's not huge, but I think it's my favourite museum - it feels really intimate, and it is hard to put a price on seeing W4050, which makes an interesting compare/contrast with G-ACSS which you can see at Shuttleworth.xeny said:
