Hi all, I'm Duncan from CompareTyres.com, proud to be PistonHeads new advertising sponsor. I've been a member of PH for a while and it was the first place I thought of sponsoring.

CompareTyres.com, as the domain name suggests(!), is a new UK website for comparing tyre prices. It checks and compares over 10,000 tyre prices every hour, from all the big providers such as blackcircles.com, Camskill, etyres, Kwik Fit, Halfords Autocentres and many more.

We're hoping that this new partnership will benefit PistonHeads users looking to save money; anyone who has ever bought tyres (i.e. most of us!) will know how expensive they can be -- on higher-end cars costing over £500 per corner. Existing websites do not compare the whole of market, and do not allow direct comparisons between fitting, delivered and mobile fitting prices - but CompareTyres does. As someone who would rather have my tyres fitted at my office and not have to bother with going into a branch, I'm hoping others will also find it a useful service too.

The website isn't just for premium tyres, it also compares prices on budget brands as well as generic ones - in total over 100 tyre manufacturers are listed, from Michelin to... Minerva!

I hope it's useful, it's completely free to use. If anyone has any questions or queries then please leave them here and I'll reply as quickly as possible, or I can be reached on duncan@comparetyres.com. Any feedback (positive or negative!), or ideas on what to add/change, most welcome.

Cheers,
Duncan

Working here, not much choice for delivery only.

No Camskill, Openeo, Etc....

Site looks a bit crap on mobile too (portrait mode).

MyTyres, Camskill should be live tomorrow or Friday. I added Demon Tweeks today.

Camskill was working but it got a bit messed up so I paused it temporarily. It's a bit more work than we initially thought, sorting tyres from so many different merchants, they don't use any standardisation. cool

That issue mentioned above for the search by size, apologies, fixing it now.

Mobile / responsive display, thanks - slowly getting round to patching them.

Hmm, strange. Can you please give a bit more information?

On blackcircles.com I see 2 tyres... https://www.blackcircles.com/order/tyres/search , for 205/55/R19 (any speed rating).

Sorry, no. Not yet anyway, happy to add more if they agree and there's enough demand for them. smile

Can’t get it to work on iPad. Perhaps push it a bit more when some of the bugs have been ironed out.

Didn't seem to find an option to sort by price and the filter of brands did not include all brands listed. Nice concept tho, good luck

I ran a test and in 225/40/18 it can't find any Michelins ?

I like the idea. Just think it'll need a bit of work. Keep it up.

I just checked again and blackcircles shows 16 tyres at the various price points then "a further 268 tyres from £44.38"

Not sure if the link will work for you as it does me but this is it: https://www.blackcircles.com/order/tyres/search for 205/55r16

Cheers. Did you search by reg plate or by size directly? When I search for that size specifically, and filter by Michelin only, I see 29 results. eek

I searched by Reg plate for my BMW
Don't see why that should make a difference? ;-)

No results at all. Searched by registration number, selected the tyre size and nothing has come up.

If you search by registration plate it will know the Load Rating and sometimes that can make a difference. I'll change it now so that it makes no difference whatsoever and it'll show all results the same clap

Site is working for me but results are lacking in detail and not all vendors are yet supported.

Looking for a 305 30 20 Michelin Cup2 RO1 Quattro homologation. I see about 5 Cup2 returns which all look the same on the search screen but I can't see if they are audi, porsche (ro, no, etc) etc unless I click on the tyre and go to the details. The homologation needs to be shown on the initial list of search returns.

Also no return from Camskill who are cheaper than any of the Compare returns.

Still a good tool I think if it can have some minor tweaks.

Does seem better with that tweak.
Not sure if it's your site or the sites you're pulling data from, running a search for 245/35/18 shows again no Michelin, and lists one of the tyres as winter when it is a summer tyre

Some of the fitments got messed up (again its much harder than I originally thought to pull in data from so many sites/feeds!) Anyway this I have made some changes to today but still not 100% complete. Will work on this + adding Camskill over Christmas week. Thanks again for the feedback.
