I always thought the rare coupe version looked cool
A bit marmite but I like them. The rear screen in these is from the XJ6.

Large wafty cars can often be colour sensitive but I think the Interceptor can get away with it better than most, mind you typical '70s colours like orange and yellow can still be too much for some...

In period I never saw an orange or yellow Jensen (except on the horrid Jensen Healey) - those colours were more often seen on Porsches , VWs and Lotuses . Nearly every Interceptor I remember was in silver or blue , and both suited its 'executive express ' status well I think .

That car isn't quite correct for an Interceptor II.

The vents in the front wings incorporate the indicators which was a MK III feature (they were mounted on the wings, just behind the vents previously| and it also has a MKIII dash.
Good spot - didn't notice at first. Wheels also MK111.

Seats and door trims are Mark 11. Makes you wonder how much of the front end is original.

It does appear to be sitting a little high at the rear but many have had fairly major restoration work over the years and no doubt new springs etc.. Lovely cars, though, and I've never heard them referred to as 'gopping' before (whatever that means wink )
The car is not fitted with a Mk III dash — the dash fitted is correct for the year of car (late Mk II).
Is that so? - didn't know that. I always thought that the extra 2 eyeball vents came in with the SP and MK111 but I've only had a MK111 so no experience of the MK11 and the few I can remember looking at years ago all had 2 vents (I think wink )

I have a spare one if anyone wants it . I've owned it for about 6 years and bought it out of Florida. It now lives in Texas. It's solid but has a few blisters and dents here and there. I was going to make one good car out of two but would hate to see it go like that.

It now lives in Texas.

Not such a big fan of the bright '70s colours.

Something along these lines would sit in my fantasy garage. Even though it's 'gopping'. hehe

The lime green looks much better on a Miura but I could live with the other bright colours. The dark blues look very suave though, it's no surprise they were popular.

My dad had one in a copper metallic colour back in the 80’s. Me and my brother would pester him to drop us to school in it.
