You're by no means in a minority Doofus in liking Zagato's, albeit you might well be on PH. The Zagato Shooting Brake image (the silver one someone posted above) was the most liked AML Instagram post of 2018 (180k), second highest image....the launch pictures of the car back in April.
Of course no-one has to like it. Everyone has their own opinion, albeit the two noticeable things about PH over the years are 1. PH seems to have a lot of conservative (with a small C) posters and. 2. Those same conservative posters always seem to shout loudest
Its not meant to be patronising, its purely an observation (we're allowed to make those aren't we?). Take it however you want
I'm not looking for a fight I wouldn't describe myself as particularly conservative (I like most Zagatos, afrer all;) ). I did get a bit uppity at being told that I'd probably like it once the shock had worn off though.Of course no-one has to like it. I dislike not because it's new, or different. I dislike it because it's over-styled and uses the most well-known Zagato trope for thrills, and other than that, there's really nothing 'Zag' about it; AM are relying on an historical relationship to create a demand for a product from which the artistry is missing.
I don't like AM's (and Ferrari's) current design language, and I don't believe it'll grow on me. There's certainly more AM in these Vanquishes than there is Zagato. It's marketing not passion; it's drama, not purpose, IMO. It's design to get attention - and for that, it works, and they'll always sell at a premium. However, I'm not going to persuade myself to like a car just because it's made from Unobtanium.

I think they look incredible, all of them. That video makes the PH article a farce.

I like it, although not in pink.
I get a feeling it's not going to have a very big boot though, which sort of defeats the whole point of the exercise.
The pink was the wrong shade so Katie Price sent it back to Aston Martin to be repainted I get a feeling it's not going to have a very big boot though, which sort of defeats the whole point of the exercise.
Ferrari FF meets Nissan GTR and Scirocco. Makes the 2010 BMW 530d GT look beautiful...
I think this pic' is pretty damning, look at where the hatch seal sits and all the extra bloat and odd shape of the surrounding bodywork that sticks out behind, and how far the bumper/diffuser extends from the loading lip. Looks baggy and superfluous. Plus those light clusters, very fussy to my eye, imagine actually trying to clean them...

So not only is it pig-ugly, it's also woefully impractical. They'll sell every single one of them.

Have a word! You think any one of the 99 will actually be cleaning the vehicles themselves? Ha ha!!! I don't even clean my car and it's not a super-limited Aston Zagato. I think people seem to forget that it's not built to be practical or easy to clean or eve as a massive load-lugger. It's a coachwork. A styling exercise. Much like the Discovolante, it's about creating bespoke vehicles for owners who want to have their Vanquish look different to everyone else's.
To judge these cars on anything as dull as 'practicality' is to completely miss the point. As for the looks, like absolutely EVERYTHING in life it's about personal taste. I'll take my collection of four in "Spectre" silver.
