I loved the picture of it with it jumping the shark in the background.

Wait, what? The car's brake calipers are manufactured via the technique of extremely slow cooling of metal alloy enabled only in space? Bit overkill.

“thanks to the extremely slow cooling of metal alloy enabled only in space”

Space being well known for being really quite chilly, how does that work then?

Car wise. Umm... why?

Hmm special editions already. Perhaps the new 850 isn't exactly falling out of the dealerships as expected...

Love the shape and lines. I think a little OTT on the Meteorite touches. Perhaps some here and there but certainly not on the wing mirrors. Imagine someone clipping those! The cost of replacement for want of a better word would be Astronomical ( no pun intended )

Is it just me or are car manufacturers quickly losing the plot in terms of where they're spending their time developing these things? Would it not make better sense for them to concentrate on the quality of their products, driving characteristics and 'character' rather than the overstyled monstrosities we see these days?

Actual fragments of a meteorite? Do me a favour. How about you improve the completely consumable nature of your product line BMW. Actual star dust in a product that will barely outlive a carton of milk! Shocking.

I do like the centre console, but the arm rest which resembles a plasterers radio is seriously st, as is the rest of the spacey looking additions.

Still 50/50 on the car itself, bit too much going on design wise but nice silhoette.

Would probably work quite well on a MINI. Not so great on an 8 series.

That looks crap frankly. What next, Swarovski crystals on the pedals?

I think we need to keep things in perspective here: this is a one-off creation, probably for a very wealthy space enthusiast, and in no way reflects the design or engineering of BMW, current or future. Yes, I also don't like many things about BMW's current path; notably the forthcoming FWD 1 series, the replacement of straight 6s with 4cyl turbos, and the incompetence of their DBW throttle systems; but I don't think this eccentric one-off is evidence for that.
