Love the colour and the tweaks mentioned. Would say no to the wheels (pepper pots still the best). No to the steering wheel and don't really like the blacked out radiator or headlight trims. Surprised it is double badged as a Jaguar and Daimler.

I do think this is the best looking car ever made, but if money was no object I wouldn't want to drive anything that wasn't a V8.

I wonder if a AMG 6.3 would fit?

Looks nice, needs smaller wheels like others have said.

I prefer the looks of the Broadspeed wide body XJ coupe that was in the Avengers TV show. Now that looks like a beast.
Yes me too. Fab shape. Saw one on the toad once and it’s was just as thug in a suit looking Marvellous.
Re V12s though, I had an xjrs 5.3 back in the day and was surprised how slow it was even at the time. The horrible torque converter and 3 speed box didnt help much either. I remember getting a full on full opposite lock slide on the entry ramp to the m1 in the wet one morning, in an attempt to get the thing to actually GO I buried the throttle and when it changed up into 2nd almost did a donut on me!
They do look great though and as someone suggested, maybe better with an xkr engine, and I’ll have a manual please. Oh yes, the biggest negative I recall is the incredible short swabs yo the seats and the huge trans tunnel. They were a bit squashed inside. Which was strange for such a massive car.

Ah well, insert another phrase for "the way it sits on the road in the first picture" then! smile
That one will do. smile
Now I don't want one !....and those wheels !? wow, who designed and made them, surely copying the original style would look much better.I used to have a "real one" [daimler] many moons ago, but it died a rusty death like most of them unfortunately. So I wish Arden good luck in finding "solid" cars for their expensive conversions.
P.s. Only 320 hp from the V12 ?........why bother ?

Freedom of speach is the law in this country, isn’t it?
The return of the ar... jag is a disaster. The car ,in it’s original form, looks and drives beautifully. Why does someone have to go and put those wheels and those even stupider looking exhausts on such an elegant car.Sacriledge. Give it more power, like 400 plus horses and a decent gearbox.Sort out some of the niggling quality problems, and You’re done. Shintzy? Actually,Nico‘s car looks like a modern version of the XJ should, apart from the stupid wheels and exhaust.
Why do,people insist on putting ‚go faster‘ addons to a design that is iconic in it‘s own right?

Could've been better executed.

If Arden went 'full Singer' on this with engine(c400bhp as above), sumptuously sculpted interior, modern gearbox, tasteful alloys & steering wheel it would be heavenly. I'd imagine the price would be 'full Singer' too.

Reading some of the comments
Yes this is the last real jaguar
Shame they didn’t do it to a series 1
Don’t forget what a ground breaking car the XJ6
Was in its original form
Even 50 years later others are still trying to catch up ,even Jaguar .
Well done Mr Lyons and co..

Maybe that is right in regards to looks and appeal, but the XJ40 was the last real Jaguar in the sence that it was the last car developed by Lyons and Jaguar as an independant company. Although owned by Ford during the time of the X300 and X308, these cars were developments of the XJ40 platform and for me still retain that original character Jaguar character. I do like subsequent Jaguar cars but there is something of a break in the lineage from that point mentioned...

Point taken.but the xj40 didn’t retain the character or dare I say it build of the early cars
It was like a big montego
It never drove a patch on the original car.
I’m very fortunate to have an original
Unrestored series 1 and I drive lots of different
Cars new and old for a living,
The XJ is something else truly amazing
Even now , you have to gauge it on a car that’s
As it should be and I’m lucky enough to
Feel what the series 1 XJ was exactly intended and designed to drive like it’s still amazing
As I said in the first post they are still trying
To get close 50 years later
All the best

I'd love to do one of these, but update it. Modern brakes, suspension, etc, and stick in a RB25 or a 2JZ to give it some go. Not stupid power, just enough for speed and reliability. But if keep the body standard.
