I've just seen the worst thing about the new Supra for us in the UK and that's the price comparison to what it will cost in the US.
UK start price - £56,945
US start price - £39,356
Why the hell are UK customers paying a 45% premium over US customers, absolutely crazy
1. It’ll be a different specification UK start price - £56,945
US start price - £39,356
Why the hell are UK customers paying a 45% premium over US customers, absolutely crazy
2. Things are often different prices in different countries.
3. Companies can charge what they like.

That's fantastic, a star for you!
Have you seen the Supra in real life yet?
If not, you are still keyboard on the critique.
You 'geniuses' must think I that I want people to like the looks or something; I don't even care about this car like that, sorry. (No manual)
Just see it first in flesh before finally judging; a "real" designer should know that.
I don't need to see it in the flesh to know it is nowhere near as nice as the concept.Have you seen the Supra in real life yet?

I don't care that the concept wasn't legal or didn't have to conform to this rule or that rule.
Is it better looking in real life? Quite possibly. Will it be anything as nice as the concept? No. Nothing like.
Toyota shouldn't have whetted everyone's appetite with something they knew they were never going to be able to build, as someone above mentioned.
All they've done is get everyone hungry and excited for a stunning looking car and then let them all down by supplying something that is far from stunning.

Lexus LC500 USA – From £73,744
Lexus LC500 US – From £71,122
That works out at about 3.5% increase for UK buyers over US so why is the Supra 45% difference? The specs won't be that much of a difference between the two countries

I'd guess it comes down to what it's competing against in the respective markets. In the US is needs to be priced roughly in line with things like the Mustang GT which simply aren't a factor in the UK market.
If this car undercut the Cayman and Alpine by ~ £10K it would make more sense. At the same price, well ..130R said:

Whatever Toyota say about it being a "pure sports car" I think this is inevitably going to be more of a competitor for the F-Type, SLK, Z4, etc. than the Cayman or Alpine. kambites said:

Lol, add these to the "bingo" card....
Doesn't make them any less true. You're trying to argue people are judging something without having seen it in the flesh. Which they are. But they're not saying it's a terrible car. They're saying it's a terrible car compared to the concept.
Your bingo card can't change the fact Toyota teased one thing and delivered something else entirely.
