Will this plate pass an MOT?

Trust me you wouldn’t, unlike AV185 I am not a chiselled Demi god gracing PH with my mutterings as a national service to the underclasses. Nope, short, fat and bald old RR model driving chav plated wannabe scouser is as good as it gets I’m afraid. However what amazing value this thread has been, I’m just working on a follow up, maybe “my neighbour parks his van near my house”, or “my pcp is a bit too high what are my options”, but I’ll probably go with the classic “my MX5 overstayed the allowed time in a Lidl car park, I got a fine but ignored it for 2 years and now it’s £50k”

It's R88, followed by an abbreviation of my surname. The first 8 has a plate coloured screw-cap across the middle, so it looks a little more like ROB.
If anyone can't see this is R88 then they're blind. Countless police have seen it and never pulled me, ANPR sure recognised it when I received a speeding ticket, and it's passed it's last 7 MOT's without mention.
Seriously, that's verging on being naff. Most normal people would put a black screw cover on the the 8. IMHO, it just takes the edge of what otherwise might be a reasonable plate. If anyone can't see this is R88 then they're blind. You virtually contradict yourself by saying 'it looks a little more like ROB', which it doesn't by the way. Then you say ' If anyone can't see this is R88 then they're blind'. Why bother? Still R88, it's yours, do what you want but don't genuinely expect many people to be impressed, or even notice, for that matter.
It looks everything other than epic.

It's just fact, sorry if it pisses you all off, make you 'cringe' or whatever. Try growing up and getting some understanding of logic and how to actually perform valid comparisons rather than being daft!
Where are these valid comparisons about perspective and statistics at then?Edited by Tired on Thursday 24th January 09:08
Can we just all agree that ALL private plates are chavtastic (I'll make an exception for plates with a family history/sentimental attachment) and stop trying to justify spending money drawing attention to the worst looking part of a car. At least the "chavplaters" have the excuse that it's cheap and 'fun' (even if it's not my idea of fun), spending thousands on number plates is utterly insane.
There are people on here, who are so hung up on following the letter of the law (like they've never done 34mph in a 30mph zone....yeah right), that they'll argue that DAZ 1234 is a better plate than J3SUS because there's of the spacing and number instead of a letter.

I don't think you'd need a math's degree to see that the second B needs a bit of work! Maybe "A" aspiring secret agent has bought it...
(To make BMT 316A - James Bond's reg.)

Why is the car Mr Brosnan is perched on wearing a different VRM from the other two?
They attempted to convey the idea that 214 was Bond's own car, like 216 but without the gadgets. The truth I think was that the owner of 216 wanted too much money but saw sense by the time of the next film.Let's try this one, see if any of you think it's 'chav' , 'crappy' etc.
I'm no railway buff, so some details may not be 100%, but this is the gist. My dad is a railway enthusiast. 72, ex-bank manager, Christian, pillar of the community, anything but a chav.
His favourite ever train has an ID (or something along the lines of) C13 GCR. Indeed, if IIRC he's worked on restoring this loco (The Great Western Railway rings a bell?)
This - https://www.lner.info/locos/C/c13.php
That is also his private plate C13 GCR. Correctly spaced, but a car with a railway train ID.
That one may make heads explode

There's nothing wrong with your DADS plate.

Apart from the ones you personally deem to be ok.
In other words, everyone has their own opinion, their own line in the sand.
Shall we argue about it for another 20 pages now?
