RE: 'TOO 510W': Spotted

How much for that plate? Some of these are funny, reference the car or serve a useful purpose of disguising an old car as a newer one, but not at the price of six figures.
Favourite one was Harry Metcalfe’s old Zonda C12, that had C12 UFO on the plates, or a glamour model in the south of England about 20 years ago who had simply 36D on her MG convertible.

Both your posts suggest you're not the target market.
Let's see what the people with too much time on their hands on the number plate thread have to say about it.
Particularly their vociferous leader jaguarsteve.
Although in this case the plate would suit him perfectly Let's see what the people with too much time on their hands on the number plate thread have to say about it.

A few years ago a Porsche 911 turbo with number plate TUR 80 overtook me doing some terrifying speed. However, he had his comeuppance as I noticed a few weeks later the number plate for sale on 'written off Porsche'.
I'm not in to personalised plates at all, but do smile when one is obviously worth much more than the car itself. For instance, A1 (which used to be owned by Dunlop I think) is currently registered to a 12 year old Mini.

As soon as I saw this headline I thought...Number plate Nazi's are gonna have a field day.
The first poster made me laugh....How can you not get it? You may not like it but it does not need to come with a degree in stating the bleedin obvious.
Me, I love it and know the original owner has a sense of humour but then I do have EGO 30X on my car to laugh at my own Ego.

Used to see that knocking around the South Coast on Tim Dutton's Porsche 928 in the 80s. Does look good.
Yes I saw it back in the day as a schoolboy (Worthing) - IIRC Dutton were based there.Reminds me of the old but entertaining UR S0 VA1N documentary, a tale of two N1GELs.

Never understood this apparent obsession with personalised plates. Very rare to see one in Belgium, even if the price is only €1000 (8 letters).
I wouldn't classify this as a "Personalised" plate - and whilst I don't necessarily consider the term "cherished" plate to be the best alternative its what the DVLA use for them allA personalised plate would, to me, mean one where it has the owner's name/initials in it. Like on my boss's Ranger Rover where he has PS** PRS, or someone called Kevin would have R123 KEV or KEV 1N (if they won the pools)
A plate like this, not personalised to anyone in particular, but spells out something, is a bit less vain

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't drive around with rally style name transfers on my rear windows so why would I want everyone wanting to know I've called KEV or BEV or SAM?This sort of plate makes more sense to me. Just quirky rather than vain - it also hides the age of the car which some people may want to do.
