It used to be on a Lamborghini Countach too, as I recall?

Tim Dutton used to own a Countach, so was it his, or am I putting two and two together and getting five?
Yes, you are correct - here are some 1980's period pictures with some slight 'modification' at the time on the '1'!

Number plates, cars parked at slightly jaunty angles, modifications. This forum is full of odd people who get irrationality angry at the insignificant.
You got that right.

I kind of feel sorry for people that get irrationally angry over this sort of thing.

But, I do have a private plate, ever better it’s completely meaningless .

Nice plate but they are not realistically getting £150k for it if that’s what they want.....

Sometimes you just don't need to 'modify' the spacing to get the right effect. This is one, another I saw some while ago was X 666 HOG on a bike. Guess the make? wink

How much for that plate? Some of these are funny, reference the car or serve a useful purpose of disguising an old car as a newer one, but not at the price of six figures.

Favourite one was Harry Metcalfe’s old Zonda C12, that had C12 UFO on the plates, or a glamour model in the south of England about 20 years ago who had simply 36D on her MG convertible.
This was the plate in my mind when I bought mine. A homage to Harry's Zonda ! (Mine was only 200 quid tho ! biggrin)

I understand from Collecting Cars auction TOO 510W is now being very competitively priced to sell so now being offered at the auction for a fraction of what it was originally up for sale for.

Thank you for that, I have sold a couple of plates using collecting cars recently and they are knowledgable, I wonder what they have advised the client what to set the reserve at.

A1VDY cost me £500 cash and a trade car. Personally just see it as a novelty and don't understand some prices asked/paid.
V4O AG I bought for my Cayman was £293 only 3 months back + the £80 transfer fee.

I remember 25 LOW coming past me at high speed on the way to LM24 10 or 15 years ago (on a Testarossa I think) - made me smile, although I don't generally go for these plates.

Based on what others are asking I’d say that’s a fair price for a ‘known’ plate.

Here’s Jaguar 5teve, clearly he doesn’t have the mental capacity (normally a low IQ) to make the link in similarity between numbers / letters as your brain, generally, automatically does it for you because they look similar, not because they are direct substitutions.

Rather I'd suggest I have the mental capacity to quickly identify the difference between numbers and letters and use them appropriately and not descend to the level of attempting to fool anybody by pretending they're interchangeable.

A fake Rolex or artificial suntan or surgically enhanced tits or a wardrobe crammed with imitation designer labels or indeed any attempt at spelling words with numbers can only ever be be a pretentious attempt at imitating the real thing and never actually be the genuine real thing.

Recognising the difference between the two is important. smile

Personally I'd feel a bit of a prat in a car with that plate on.
I remember seeing that on a 288 GTO. It was a regular at the De Tomaso owners club arranged track days at Castle Coombe. I thought it was the most amazing plate and car combo ever. 25 years on, still my favourite car, not so much the plate.
